. . . . or for you Kev, Leyton, in a few minutes. Shouldn't take too much time and as I'm driving there will be no opportunity for a prolonged alcohol session either, but I'm going to pick up an effects unit from somewhere in Brentwood on the way. I don't know, the oldest person on here & still playing in a loud rock band.

For all the chat room regulars, hope there's plenty of irreverent banter and that the games a good un.

Excellent stuff Alan, what a trawl down memory lane that must be. The old photos are brilliant, very evocative , you can almost smell the patchoulie and weed. Marvellous. I had no idea you were embarking on a comeback. clappp clappp

Back from the Orient now (I think I can say that now as Kev should be in bed). What a game, the whole team played well including the subs when they came on. Some magnificent passing and movement, everyone played their part. Adam Boyd was anonymous but was a good sport & came over to the Pools supporters at the end and applauded them - nice touch that.
I met Parmo there - seen him at many games over many years but never spoken to him until now - how can anyone look so aggressive and be such a nice guy

As for the band, we got back together as a bit of a laugh trying to mimic the League of Gentlemen's 'Creme Brulee' and it's just gone from there - it's good fun. The patchoulie is still in abundance as Maureen & I love the smell of the stuff around the house as it reminds us of our younger days. Rock & Roll.

Both Roy Wood's very much the same era though so you can remove the thicket.
I'd seriously given up playing for many years, not even for fun at home and was content to listen to John Peel & see a few bands from time to time. Funny enough one of Chip's bands became a firm favourite long before I knew Chip or his his support for Hartlepool - this happened when I wrote an MB article, unable to think of anything football related I did a top 30 bands that I liked, Chip replied that he had seen most of them & we used to meet up at Pools games after that along with his brother. I was also friendly with John Peel & used to go along to many of the live Maida Vale sessions. When John died it left a musical void & that's when I started playing again. Will keep you informed on the gig front, hopefully we can start getting gig's a little further north than Brighton we're we've currently been playing.

He probably won't even realise but Roy Wood (Wizzard version) lives about a mile from Mr Nottingham Poolie.
