Losing at home in the paintpot trophy. Bottom of league two with just three points.

Another managerial change on the cards, even Eifion can't help them!

if I was a betting man I'd say Carey has to produce a win this Saturday otherwise he may have a meeting with the board on Monday morning..

Lets be honest though - Eifion was cack for us last season, probably the weak link - did you really expect him to do well in an average to poor team......

Jesus, its manna from heaven for you sad sacks, innit??

He hardly got a look in last season, but hey; don’t let that get in the way of a complete character assassination like the one that was carried out on Hendo the other day banghead

I think Jonny sometimes posts controversial remarks for effect that he knows will get peoples back up. Effion contributed towards only the fourth promotion in our history, infact he's contributed to 50% of the promotions in our history. To say he was cack last season is a disgrace, if that was the case he wouldn't have played up front with Barker for a large part of our unbeaten run. In fact out of memory he started over 30 games in a season we earned more points than we ever have, he must he been doing something right to be selected.

It was completely the right time to release him but some have very short memories not even extending back a matter of months....

Not really, thats why Effion was released, he only scored 6 times last season. Boyd/Williams/Foley/Porter are all used to knock a lad who has played for us for five minutes banghead FFS give him a chance.

I cant beleive this thread has been turned into a Effion slagging one. He was a Poolie Legend. He always gave 100% and scored some great goals. He was a top professional and played in a great Pools team. He deserves better.

You should hang your heads in shame.

I'm not posting for effect - like you say PJ he scored about 6 times in a lot of games. He was missing in a lot of games and if anyone was to choose a weak link in the team last year he was it........

I don't know why it gets peoples backs up, its only an opinion. If Moore, Barker or whoever score only 6 in 30 games this season they will get questioned and rightly so.....

I'm not talking about his whole Pools career just last season. Also many have criticised Ritchie Humphreys this season and isn't he also a legend.....

I don't want to go over old ground as Pools have enough problems this season to discuss, but Eifion Williams was poor in many games last season, he didn't do enough to earn a contract and was rightly released....

If you read my post I am talking about last season, in the second part of the season he played well and contributed greatly to the run that got us to promotion. He was far from 'cack' even though it wasn't the best season he had at the club. For cack see Proctor and Llewellyn.

Richie always get criticised, every season, no matter how he plays generally by the same people.....

On the Ritchie Humphreys front I have been one of the detractors. For example I completely dismiss that run of appearances that he made because for almost an entire season he played poorly but was always guaranteed his place. He has performed abysmally sometimes and still was picked.

Last season for the most part and this season apart from a couple of games he has been ok. I don't believe he can cut it any longer in midfield but he is a reasonable left back. When the likes of Boland and Sweeney are fit he will return to being a squad player operating as reserve left back. If DW decides to try Antwi out at left back then I can't see a role for RH other than as emergency back up.

A few years ago he was an exceptional player for Pools but that was then. The club and team has moved on.

Based on the peformances so far would you have him over Elliott?

I agree that midfield is no longer his ideal position and we've got better options there when Boland and Sweeney are back but for me we look far more solid with Humphreys at left back than Elliott. He links up with Monkhouse far better, manages to get back and looks competant there.

Wrexham signed one of the main strikers from a club that had just strolled to promotion (once he actually started playing every week)in Wrexham's league , and who was also the top scorer in that club's previous promotion season.
That sounds like sensible signing to me. Easier to justify for them than Moore for us.

So Wrexham have made a nightmare start - but WTF do you lot know about the reason? Proctor, Williams, bla bla bla.

As for Llewellyn and A.Williams, they are ancient history; what relevance do they have?

I thinks he's still the best left back we have, Robbie Elliot hasn't played full back for years (I bet you'd see a different player at centre half he was playing in that position for Newcastle two years ago). I can't really get my head around the fact that two of the four at the back who kept clean sheets in half of the games of last season aren't first choice at the moment sctatchinghead I'm sure Dw has his reasons maybe Antwis pace and Elliots experience but surely if it ain't broke don't fix it?

Humphreys had great games in the centre of midfield at Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday as well. He's still a valuable member of the squad.

Im pretty sure Antwi has a "must play" clause in his contract.

Antwi at left back could be interesting as mentioned above. especially with his pace and passing ability.

I keep hearing this rumour, and I would be gobsmacked if it was anything other than 100% horseshit.

And I'd be pissed off to fk too.

But the proof will be if / when he doesn't play.

If Clarky plays Saturday and has a blinder, then Nelson is fit the following week, it will be interesting to see if this theory is proven or dismissed.

I don't believe it either but I suspect there may have been a gentlemans agreement that Antwi would not sit in the reserves where as he could play a higher standard in Liverpool reserves.

They had a torrid time of it in their Paint Pot defeat with Llewellyn and Proctor both sent off and Eifion and a couple of defenders going off injured.
I'm sure they are not as bad as their position suggests. Perhaps they just have a Scotty (Welshy?) in charge.
