Mott The Hoople - how good were they then. Just thinking as I listen! Big influence on The Clash anall. Nowt to compare these days. What a great cover my Mott album has as well.

seen them in 73 at newcastle city hall they were alright but the support band were better :-o

Much prefer Mott to Q myself - Mick Ralphs had gone by the time I saw 'em to be replaced by aerial bender (Spooky Tooth fame I think). Top band they were, top band and Strummer himself said somat along the lines of without Mott no Clash (if my memory is intact). Vacuous words though - surely never in pop :roll:
