There’s times like this when it’s difficult to make a match report. What I saw today was a team give their all, a team that tore a team that was in the Championship last season and the Champions League not so long ago to shreds but ultimately we were a team down on luck.

I’m not going to bother saying how close we were to scoring cause everyone there would have seen it. Dennis Wise must be on the luckiest managers alive if Swindon’s and Leeds performances against us are to go by.

I hope that we can see a repeat performance next week against Swindon. If we do we will scare them shitless.

Elland Road was a pleasant(ish) experience as well (apart from one dickhead on the shuttle bus I was on who was doing cut throats signs to Hartlepool supporters coaches and saying other arrogant stuff like it’s our biggest match ever. I was very tempted to pull my jacket down and show him my colours…less said about him the better). Both sets of fans gave a good account of themselves; we backed the lads all the way.

I can't wait for them to come to the Vic (it’s a shame that we won’t be building that 2k to 3k away stand that I’ve been hearing about in time as I would like to give Leeds fans as much tickets as they gave us to make it a memorable atmosphere).

In short…today I was proud to be a Poolie.
