Can anyone remember what season this was I'm sure it was '88. I seem to recall going down after the Sheff Utd league cup game.

I think about 20/30 of us got in - in the seats, but this was a time when i went to torquay about 4 out of 5 years in a row and they're blending into one this morn.

help confised

I got my ticket off a former Pools keeper who was running a pub called the volunteers just out the back of the home end, well the street parallel to it. 20p and a big nipper to who can name him!!

I think it was 87/88. Baker got sent off early in the game as I remember it but i'm sure we got a draw.

I went with my brother and Dad. They were down for the weekend where as i'd got the train down from London for the day, so was guteed to say the least that I couldn't get it. However, they were both in the Army at the time and showed their ID cards which got us into the game.

There was about 15/20 fans outside the mainstand well hacked off before the game kicked off - were you one then Katcha?

I was there with 3 other Booties and my ID card was passed back to a couple of other Poolies allowing them to get in.

I remember sitting right behind the goal for that game and the look of the faces of the Torquay fans when we scored was quality. A great weekend as per norm in Torquay.

I thought it was the season after but like i say my memory has the better of me with this.

aye we were in the alley way/road near the main stand and we did one to the vollies just out back of the home end behind the goal and got served by the landlord and he clocked the accents.

"I used to play there, how many tickets do you want?" i think he got us 8/12 of these little yellow slips - remember all that even the fact one of my mates had a pot on and where i slept but cant remember the year - but sure it was 88 after we'd been to sheff u on the tuesday (free tickets for there as well - courtesy of mr honour - for their main stand mind - quickly escorted out by south yorks' worst !!) and then exeter v bristol city on the weds - a very very good week - which is prob why i cant remember as they were always good weekends at torquay :sweeeet:

i thought we lost 2-0 - i'll check with lad who had the pot on as he'll remember as i cant find it on t'web anywhere re banned fans at torquay.

it was deffo 1-1 katcha. baker got sent off right in front of me early on, but we fought back to save a point.

it was almost certainly 87-88.

pretty sure you lot were let in around half time and stuck in the top corner of the seats.

i was in the torquay end, a lad i was working with at the time was from torquay and his brother who was a season ticket got me in.

yeah we missed some of game and were in the top corner of the seats.
nice one -cheers chip.

how many would you say where there altogether? i think there was around 12 of us there and we were taken to near some others? - i was very drunk by t'way

i now remember the next games more clearer after speaking to me mate with the pot on - he had the pot on in 91-2 (only 4 years out there then!!), the reason i tied this game in with a broken arm (the 88-9 one) is my mate was sleeping in a sleeping bag outside in torquay - we had a habit of comfy bivvying back then - and was hopping about in it and went over on his arm and had to go to hospital. ..

still struggling with the 88-89 one after sheff utd but that was the fifth day of a five day drinking session - we didnt even get to thirsk on the way to sheff utd before we stopped for a pint -

anyway time to rewrite a chapter :uhoh: biff

I was on the team bus, honest! It cost £20 for the privilege, not a lot these days, but it seemed a lot back then.
