Budtz 7 - did nowt wrong

Gibb 6 - that’s a generous 6, not a full back

Nelson 8 - normal service

Antwi 7 - better than of late, fantastic goal-line clearance

Humphrys 7 - slotted straight back in at left back, played well

Brown - 7.5 - tormented the home defence, taken off to save them more embarrassment, thought his first was a fluke though, certainly looked like a cross, but who cares

Liddle 8 - midfield, right back, takes it all in his stride, quality player

Clark 8.5 - great return to the starting eleven, superb in the hart of the midfield

Robson 6 - early injury victim

Barker 6.5 - 100% as usual, nice through ball for foley’s goal

Porter 7 - slow start from Joel, looked a bit rusty, got better the longer the game went on

Foley 7.5 - scared the life out of the chesterfield defence

Mackay 6.5 - looked lively, set up Brownie's second

McCunnie 6.5 - not on too long, but did ok in the centre of the park

The spell of keep ball we had during the second half was truly amazing.

How many passes would you say?

We did a pretty decent job of this against oldham too.

Overall good performance from everyone but all could improve. Tried to play a passing game and some of the new starters were a bit rusty. A few misplaced passes which could be punished on Saturday but that's the price to be paid for playing it to feet with quick pass and move. Good to watch when the whole team gets involved in stroking it across the park and the opposition are chasing shadows.

Budtz 7 - lots of shouting last night, still a few small misunderstandings with the defenders
Gibb 6 - not the best at times, but didn't hide. Funniest 'tackle' for his booking, must have been 20 yds off the ball
Nelson 7 - solid enough. Like everyone a few misplaced passes could have been punished
Antwi 7 - unbelievable clearance over the bar at full stretch, but couple of times jumped under the ball allowing the striker in
Humps 7 - good attitude, no nonsense, lots of running, occasional error
Brown - 7 - good planned corner for first goal - may not have meant it to go straight in but it was on a plate for anyone following in. Bit fancy Dan in those boots, mind.
Liddle 8 - mr versatile. Well done Danny for giving him a rest by slotting into right back when McCunie came on
Clark 8.5 - up for it more than anyone. Bit rusty at times, but touched the ball more than anyone else - was always available and all over the park.
Robson n/a - too early to score
Barker 7 - played the target as usual and some nice touches. Could have had some shots especially in first half
Porter 7 - steady, heavily patrolled by Chesterfield defence, letting other strikers in. Better second half, should have put the one-on-one away.
Foley 7 - fast and positive he's a real handful. Took the goal well. On the left wing lost his way occasionally.
Mackay 7 - nice start to first team. Great move for Brown's second goal - bit like Monkey's cross for Moore on Sat.
McCunnie 7 - another Mr versatile. Passing started again when he came into midfield and Gibb went wide right.

Around the thirty mark, it very nearly produced a goal at the end of it too.

As KT Poolie says the Chesterfield players were chasing shadows, well, for the first two minutes of the move they were, after that they just gave up and asked it they could have their ball back.

It sounded great on PW.

...to Liddle, Humphreys, McCunnie, Clark, to Nelson, back to Clark, to McCunnnie, now to Humphreys, and on to Liddle ... repeat ad infinitum (or from a Chessy supporter's POV, ad nauseum ).

In the chatroom me and Elvis simultaneously said "we're toying with them".
