Are they trying to break the record for most money ever spent on Championship standard players?

Today Danny Higginbotham from Stoke for £3,000,000

and Kenwyne Jones from Southampton for SIX MILLION POUNDS, yes £6,000,000

Are this Irish consortium permanently on the Guinness? Some of the fees they have payed for the standard of the player they have signed are absurd. They still haven't signed a proven Premiership footballer for a fee and yet have still spent an absolute fooking fortune.

I was thinking the same things earlier. Its as if they are just trying to assemble a huge squad of championship players.

Maybe they figure that if they buy ALL the half decent championship players then they will do better next season when they are playing in the championship!?
