seems a lot of talk about it from last night.
I've only seen the Donny game, but I didn't think much of it then either.
Also, he seemed reluctant to give it short to the fullbacks to allow us to build from the back.
IMO, this isn't good and he needs to be encouraged to do so,really long kicks from keepers rarely reach their intended target in general and seem a complete waste of possession to me....

He kicked it straight into touch on the half way line at least 6 times in a row with other random ones mixed in too.

Man of the Match?

His communication with the two centre backs, is a bigger cause for concern.
There were at least three occassions, when Neslon or Antwi, should have let
the ball go through to him, but didn't.
That's got to be down to a lack of confidence or bad calling, whatever it needs sorting.

But Budtz isn't even that great a shot stopper!

Yeah, he kept them out.

But he made the most of them and made them look spectacular by palming them about when they were straight at him and some could / should have been caught.

A bit of both I reckon. There was one occasion I heard a very clear 'keeper' shout yet Godwin still choose to clear it.

I also noticed that, I thought Budtz's kicking got worst when Monkhouse came on when he was aiming his kicks right at the touchline for Monkhouse to flick on but 99.9% of the time the ball went straight out

Yeah, he seemed to hook quite a few out to the left for a throw in. Too many! I still think though, that some of the saves were excellent and I think Mr R is being a bit unfair on him for that. I still don't have confidence in him at present, like a few others think, he worries me too much but I would still say on last nights game only he was our MotM
