"your keeper was excellent"

and "your centre back, 20 something (must be Antwi) is the worst player iv ever seen."

Both from Sheff Wed board. Bit harsh on Antwi but he did have a shocker. Odd they think Budtz was excellent as you all think he was awful sctatchinghead

Like I've said, "Match of the Day" saves, looks impressive but is bread and butter to a proper keeper.

Some folk are easily impressed.

All of Budtz's saves were straight at him, you would expect any keeper to have saved them.

He scares the sh*t out of me, what did Barratt ever do wrong?

You can't say that.

Apparently everybody at the match thought he was the new Peter Shilton.

So did Radio Tees.

So he must be great.

To be fair, his kicking was good though, it only took him about 105 minutes to kick one straight.

How can you not kick a ball straight as a proffesional footballer?

Then lets not forget his calamity decision in the last minute to go walkies with the ball, that should have been 3-1

Budz did make some terrific saves and kept us in the game. MOM in my opinion BUT he must have telflon coated gloves because nothing stuck! Fairly straight forward saves were coming back off him. The defence seemed to have little confidence in him and as a result there was a lot of panic at times. He doesn't look good on crosses either, prefering to punch rather than catch.

So he can't catch, is rubbish on crosses and instills panic in his defence? Yet you'd still make him man of the match?

You must have a pretty low opinion about how the rest of the lads played last night! sctatchinghead

I'm with Ripper, Budtz didn't make any great saves last night; he just made a lot of saves.

He made a lot of instinctive saves and some with his legs but he kept us in the game. But for this we would have been 3 or 4 down at half time. However as I said earlier he does not instil confidence.

He made a couple of very good saves but his back four have absolutely no confidence in big Jan. He didn't catch a cross all night and you just shite yourself every time the ball goes near him. I felt more confident with Lee-Barratt in nets at Luton, Budtz is more capable of something brilliant he's also more capable of an almighty clanger.

I thought Antwi was very poor in the first half at Port Vale and even worse last night. McCunnie and Nelson carried the back four. I'm not sure if this hamstring niggle is affecting Godwin a bit?

he reminds me a bit of robinson a very good shot stopper on instinctive saves but flaps a bit when comes to claiming the ball on crosses which should be his bread and butter, havent seen lee-barret whats he like

As in Paul Robinson?

The England keeper?

Do you think Martin Jol would do us a swap?

From what I've seen of Lee-B in pre-season, Lee-B is more capable of something brilliant. Brilliant saves against Newcastle and Rotherham come to mind.

I think Budtz would have saved the first goal at Luton. Lee-Barrat was a little slow getting down to it, it was a sof goal to concede and thats what cost him his place. Budtz hasn't actually cost us a goal.... YET!

I got same coments on Godwin and Budtz from an owls supporter.
I agree with the comments on Antwi but stand with most of the opinion from us that the saves by Budtz were pretty much run of the mill.
Have to say that their no. 5 had Barker in his pocket so it was pointless playing the high ball so much. We looked far more threatening down the left side (Budtz must've been kicking to the left on purpose then   ).
We did give Johnson too much room even though he was Sheeite, but give a player that many chances and next time.......
Add to this no communication between keeper and defence and skates instead of studs...............
