What pubs should we be welcome in/avoid on Saturday?

We are arriving around 10am and could do with an idea of where to go.

most of the pubs are away friendly provided you dont draw too much attention to yersens, the peacock across the road has a large beer garden behind it where you can enjoy a tinny or two that you might have brought with you

Someone on another forum suggested the Scarborough near the station. With respect, go elsewhere. Not only is it by the station but it's 100 yards from the football specials. With the best will in the world it only takes one knob from either side to muck it up for everyone.

Try the Victoria Hotel, http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/ ... otel/Leeds

Morleys correct - Drysalters for deffo. I arranged a meet up with 30 plus Wendys last season in there and we had a rehyt old time.

Scarborough Taps is a no no, really suggest you don't go in there or in the one next door (forget its name).

Theres a Wetherspoons in the train station but it's not always open on matchdays.

Would honestly suggest you get in a taxi and ask for the Dry Salters on Elland Road if you're arriving by train. If you're driving then park at the ground and walk there.

Spencers & Prince of Wales are the ones you're thinking of Slicks.

Salters is pants, but it's who you're with rather than where you are that matters I guess :sweeeet:

Aye - fair comment from Ken (thar'll be a first :sweeeet: ). Salters isn't exactly top banana but you'll be accepted in your numbers there without any hassle. I've only ever been in when the Wendies came to town but as you say, it's the company you keep that makes it fun and that.

Scarbrough Taps is fine. Been in there plenty of times, no trouble. Leeds fans will just have to behave themselves. Agree that the Victoria Hotel (and the Town Hall Taps) have better beer but are the opposite way to the ground. The Peacock is a bit bleak.

In which direction would you walk though?

Is it signposted?

on ER itself opposite your end of the ground there is a subway sandwich shop. with the ground on your right and the subway on your left walk straight along ER. the road will start to swing to the left, follow it round and when it merges with ring road keep bearing left and you cant miss it.
