chav generation ruined it - the out of sight out of mind parenting brigade - cheap carling lager , ten lambert n butler, doorstep parties, private landlords and politically correct policing and bureacracy from council to blame.

It's a real shame, that whole area off Chester Road (Acclom Street aside) was quite a nice area when I was a kid, especially the streets at the top end. It's a tragedy that these communities have been allowed to disintergrate.

It's not just a Hartlepool thing, you see the same all over the country with these streets being demolished to be replaced by the usual template driven two and three bedroom cardboard Wimpey houses.

Apparently they think that by demolishing the area and erecting shiney new rabbit hutches the problems solved ....but unless they demolished the old houses with the problem tenants inside them, the problem as such remains ...it aint rocket science but these clowns think they've achieved something

i think half of it has to do with the government having a pot of money to throw away on new housing and because the old houses cost as much to renovate its just as cheap to rebuild. fair point though snowy, mind you i would flatten easington road and just leave it flattened

It surprises me that people think it's real.

I met David Firth - bought him a pint - he lived in Hull while I was there. In fact, all the Devvo films are done there. Don't know if you can tell by the urban decay like
