Excellent result for the lads today. I only heard the last 20 or so minutes of commentry, I had to listen to the Vale one because the Pools one wasn't working. Anyway it sounde like we were creating a fair few chances towards the end of the game. They also said that Jan Budtz didn't have a lot to do all game. Lets hope we become more clinical and give some teams a good stuffing. Well Done Danny and the lads.....

Lets hope we keep things going and it would be nice to get one over on Sheff Wed midweek......

So let me see if I've got this right: seven goals in four games (admittedly one of those games against a side from a different division) is 1.75 goals a game.
So at this rate we'll finish the season with 80 or so goals.

It's all very depressing. sadx sadx Luckily we've won three in a row to make up for it.

Yes this is a wind up and seven from four instead of the seven from nine we got in a lower league at the start of last season is no reason to get excited.

It would be nice if our strikers would score a few from open play to get their confidene up a bit though wouldn't it.? The start has been fantastic, hopefully we will push on......

Yeah but the goalkeepers rubbish and we need a 20+ goal scoring striker...

Matty Robson??

Pah..... stpid stpid stpid

Mind it's early days, all we've done is win three on the trot against a Championship team, a strongly fancied team, and an away game.

Tickets are a bit expensive like.....  violin

We should really be stuffing teams. Its ok winning by the odd goal here and there but its about time we mullered someone.
2-0 over a poor Port Vale team is hardly fantastic. Hopefully we will get a steady stream of penalties so our forwards get a chance to score.

The Port Vale commentators said that Richie Barker missed an absalute sitter in the 85th minute from 6 yeards, Matty also scuffed a shot in the 2nd half when it was still 1-0. Everyone should be pleased with the start but to get where we want to be (pushing for the play offs0 we will have to be more clinical at this level.....

I see Boydy's new team are top of the league.....

I don't think that anyone is being negative, but we have to be sensible and keep our feet on the ground. Pools have had a fantastic start but Danny Wilson and the lads will have to continue to work hard and we'll need to take our chances to stay where we are in the league......

Just noticed one of their unused subs was called Rocastle.
That wouldn't be the same Rocastle who was all over us for Sheff in the first half at Cardiff would it?

Fair..ish point Jonny!

Wilson has said in his Post Match Interview also that "We can play better" But hell I'd take us playing like that week in week out in a higher league than last season, Good start so far and lets hope for a good result next weekend too!

There is nothing wrong with wanting and expecting high standards. And to stay where we are in the league which is what we all want we will need to perform exceptionally. The work that the lads have put in has set the standard now.

TA - Why dont you actually try posting something where you have some sort of opinion yourself rather than constantly being pedantic about my posts.

Mr Poolie in Notts also said that Barkers miss was terrible, maybe he is also being a little bit optomistic wanting a striker to score from 6 yards as well...?

Jonny, as I thought you can't even spell optimistic.

Seriously though this board was created as a refuge from the mindless, miserable, irrational negativity of the likes of Tree,Grave and Headlander - and now one by one they appear and moan here too.

Its heartbreaking. I have followed Pools 35+ games a year for 23 seasons now. This is probably the best Pools team in that time. We thoroughly deserved to win today. Please just enjoy it.

Whoopee Do - my spelling is crap.... Does anyone actually give a phuq?

This board is probably the best it has ever been, there is usually reasonable debate, the people you mention tend to justify their opinions (with exception of headlander) where as those that criticise them often just dish out abuse or picky criticisms. It is not always moaning, it is discussion. Would you rather the threads just consisted of people saying Pools were brilliant, then someone else says I concur etc;

Everyone is enjoying the success of Pools but we aren't were we want to be yet. We have higher standards now we want to do well in this league. By saying enjy the success it sounds like you think that success will be short lived, i don't agree with that I think that HUFC can improve further and become a Championship team.

I don't see why you need to say how many games you go to etc Many people who post on here don't get to that many games but I think that we are all united by the fact that we want Pools to be a continued success. I really hoper we don't see the fourth division for a long time - if ever again.....

To Jonny's credit, Wilson's post-match interview was one of apprehensive happiness - he didn't seem THAT happy and was concerned over missed chances and patchy spells.

I think any good manager has to do that though - you can't dance about every time you get a win otherwise you get cocky. Probably why I think Wilson's the perfect manager for Hartlepool

and who the heck do you think you are? I have not even been negative (apart from a blatantly sarcastic message which I posted earlier today). I agree that this is the best team ever so I dont see what your problem is. I can handle being criticised when it is warranted but I dont need some prik like you you telling me that Im negative and that the bunker was set up so people could get away from 'the likes of me'.

As for 'mindless' you clearly do not have a clue what you are talking about. Im probably a damn site more intelligent than you will ever be. When I am negative I can justify why.

Im chuffed to bits with our current team and believe me, I am very much enjoying it.

I will continue to post constructive criticism. If you dont like it, then to be honest I dont give a shiit.

As for it being 'heartbreaking' get a grip you freak.

And pde your a bit cheeky complaining about the content of the messageboard when since you joined the bunker (nearly a year ago) you have posted a total of 9 times...... That is less than once a month.....

come and join the discussion young fella.....

It's clear this thread is degenerating so soz but it's locked.

No fingers pointed, just a precautionary counter-rivalesque measure.
