Just heard on the news that an 11 year old boy has been shot in the head while playing footie in a pub car park in Liverpool. The police aren't too sure whether he was shot by a lad riding by on a bike with an air-rifle.

Law and Order is down the pan because of the softly softly everbody has good in them really they just need a chance to show it brigade who've been running this country for the last 10 years.

No doubt they'll catch whoever shot this poor kid. He'll remain anonymous in order not to upset him or the mugs who've brought him up to think that shooting somebody is normal. Then he'll get put in a secure nursery for three years where they tell him that it's actually society's fault, especially the succesful and educated element of it, and not to blame himself for what happened while they give him loads of hugs, fancy computer games and trips to Alton Towers.

Then they'll let him out and he'll do it all over again cos there's no deterrent. stpid

And they'll get nicely set up in a flat, just like that nice lad Robert Thompson, who killed Jamie Bulger in Liverpool. After a few years being cuddled by the authorities, he was declared cured and released. The home office then kindly set him up in Ireland where he promptly attempted to murder his girlfriend and her child.

It makes no mention of him being Robert Thompson. How do you know?

It's about 20 minutes walk away from where I live - different estate, but the same ward. Ironically where I am is supposed to be the worse area of Croxteth, the Fir Tree is on what's known as the Country Park Estate and is all newish houses built by the likes of Persimmon about 10 years back. Sad to say I was surprised but not shocked at this news - there are gangs around (Croxteth Crew is the local one) and there was a gang-related but non-fatal shooting down the road (ie 5 mins walk) last year....

I'm not one to listen to rumours but I was told by someone who should know. Prior to being moved the Ireland, Thompson was resident in a secure kids unit on the outskirts of Nottingham, I know one of the social workers involved at the unit very well.

Actually Rooney is from Norris Green, the next area along, which makes Croxteth look like a picnic!

Croxteth isn't remotely city centre by the way, another few hundred yards further away and you're in Knowsley. For anyone that knows the East Lancs Road, Croxteth is the bit that starts literally just after where the M57 crosses the Lancs - beyond it there are fields. There are quite seriously much worse areas in Liverpool (Kensington springs to mind), although I have to say I fully expect not to be living in Liverpool at all in a couple of years time.....
