My mates girlfriend lives in Leeds and he knows a few Leeds fans and apparently the tickets are still categorised in bands A,B, and C this season.

They have made Leeds V Pools a category A match. This means we will have to shell out £35 for a ticket. How can they justify that when the ground capacity is 40,000? are they expecting a full house  No they realise Hartlepool is only 70 miles away and we are likely to bring a big following so they up the prices.

I noticed in Lutons programme on Saturday that they only have to pay £15 for tickets as it must be a category C game. Again why should we have to pay £20 more than Luton fans to sit in the same end?

I hope this isn't true but he was pretty sure it is. If it is someone needs to tell Mr Bates that Leeds are in the third division now and to ask people to pay £35 to watch a game at this level is fooking disgracefull

I heard we where one of six 'A games.'

How can you justify this sort of system when the ground will probably never be more than than 2/3 full all season? They where only getting 16-20,000 for most of last season in the Championship. Why not just have set prices surely it would help the crowds. With normal prices I would expect us to take 3,000-5,000 down to Leeds at £35 I wouldn't be so sure.....

How the likes Man Utd, and Liverpool must be laughing that we are now an 'A band' game at Elland Raod rolfl

If its £35 then I won't be going. I don't mind paying for anything but I refuse to be ripped off.

Their dearest ticket is £30 for a Category A, and I don't think they are where the away supporters will be housed. I think we will be ripped off for £25

Leeds will be a A game which will be £25

The games are classed A,B,C £15 £20 AND £25.

come on Leeds will need the money for stewards and extra police for the Poolie invasion of say at a guess 3,000+

I hope you're right, I thought £35 seemed ridiculous.

But still £25 is way too much and again why should we have to pay £10 more than Luton fans will to sit on the same seat only a few weeks later?

I have never been a fan of different price categories, but not a lot we can do.

This debate + a link to the LUFC official site went on a day or two back. Can't see what category you are but you are a big draw so A is surely likely. But why slag us off (Leeds Robbing Bs) on the basis of a friends girlfriend's aunty who knew someone who once went to a match? And it will be a great day out and just think - if you beat the champions of Europe you'll feel pretty angry if you dipped out for the sake of a couple of quid

No ticket is £35 quid this year to my knowledge - last year £36!

There's a few grounds I've been to where the price has been extortionate - Stockport is one of them. At least with Elland Road we'll get the experience. Either way, it'll probably be the only opportunity we'll get to see it - it'll be in League Two or bulldozed by next season

Would you pay £35 to come up here and watch a team that is above you in the football league?

There is no way i would pay that to line the pockets of team in administration stpid

Anymore than £25 to watch a LEAGUE 1 team and you are being ROBBED.

FACT.

£370 season ticket - comparable with yer good selves?

Just paid £21 at tranmere - only £4 quid in it but facilities not as good. And, we would be top of the league if Thatcher's heir hadn't decided to make an example of us violin

No I reckon £25 quid is a good day out. And we're really good company.

And yes - if I could get a ticket at your place boxing day for £35 quid I would love to come. But I'll be one of several thousand fighting over 600 tickets - we have 300 (I think) away season ticket holders.

If the games continue to go up in price the ridiculous rate then many people are just not gonna bother. I would never pay 35 quid to watch Pools play a league match. We'd have to be in the FA Cup semi final to justify that sort of price.

I worked out the other day that on match tickets alone (just for home games, 25 a season) rising a quid every other year in the next 40 years (when I retire, although hopefully it will be sooner) I will spend close to 30k just on match entry alone. That excludes away games, shirts, decent cup runs, possible steeper inflation than a quid every other year. It's not peanuts.....

Anyhow just think in a few years we can tell our grandchildren that we were rated as big a match as Man United to Leeds.

 Like most of us on Rivals I am looking forward to your visit mate. Hope the costs don't put too many people off. My advise is bring the family - Harvey Nicks, Victorian Quarter, Jumbo and Crash Records, real fish and chips etc for them that don't like football followed by a nice family meal at one of our rather splendid restaurants and possibly an overnight in a boutique hotel. clappp

You remind me of an old Harry Enfield sketch back in the day he was funny featuring straight talking Yorkshireman 'George Whitebread'

Stuart Maconie - Britains favourite DJ  in 'Pies and prejudice' (fantastic read for any northerner) was right:

"This is a town that seems drunk on it's own newfound prosperity and vibrancy, and who, apart from jealous Londoners (and folk from Hartlepool?) sweltering on the armpit line, could begrudge them"

Come on in the waters fine - Englands second city  and all for £25.

(burtons - Leeds finest gentlemans tailors . . . a man of taste!). Think I'll give Miss Perkins a miss

Poyet was only making that very point today on the web site in a tongue in cheek reply to the assassin up the road. I can see you slotting right into Leeds' cafe society madjohn.

Me, I'll be up the next ginnel taking on a few Sam Smith's at £1.33 a pint which should suit even your most thrifty fans.

" Hi Shrimpers,

Hartlepool fan here.

Just wondered how much Leeds charged you for your tickets today. We're visiting in a couple of weeks and rumours are that tickets are £35! "

Posted today by one of yours on southend rivals - why do you Poolies insist on ramping up the price? Strange!!! sctatchinghead
