Wait till they get to 14 year old and there's 30 in the squad and the coach says he's only taking 14 players confised

1 game in three weeks.

Your right about missing the competative games.

If he's good enuff at 16 they will come a calling :sweeeet:

the law should be changed to stop clubs picking up kids as young as that
what percentage of kids are going to make it through the system? as most of them won't be good enough at sixteen
last time i saw the academy kids on the Vic there seemed to be thousands of them
i know of one kid in the town was picked up by the loids at eight years old
as it was already mentioned they are taking the fun from the kids football

Am I missing the point here? Isn't the TJFA the ones to blame most for this ruling saying kids who play for pro clubs can't compete in their league?

Stupid ruling for a league at that age stopping them playing for pro clubs and its only going to have a negative effect on the TJFA overall in my opinion.

when i ref'd a couple of years ago i did a lot in that league and i completly agree with your points i saw lad who played for seaton he was brilliant then a couple of years later he was on pools books become greedy and wanted to do all the work himself, is it at that age all about fun with your mates rather than placing silly notions in there head that they are above there mates level to play at the domestic weekly compertitions

Surely at the age of nine kids should be allowed to play as much football as they want, I wouldn't want one of my kids being under that sort of pressure at such a young age. Just go and and enjoy it.

Its not as if we have any evidence to support that these academies and centre of excellence are actually producing better players is it, just look at the forwards and keepers the England team have to pick from, it isn't many. I wonder if say a George Best or a Rodney Marsh had been picked up at 9 years old by an academy they'd have ended up the players they became or would have been coached out of them?

also look at ian wright he didnt start playing pro football until late and he wasnt a bad player all natural ability so it does prove your point of coaching natural ability out of players if been done at such a young age

The other reason , of course, is to stop the unscrupulous managers of wannabee teams, leaving out their regular players and bringing in their ringers for big games. Believe me, it happens, even at 9 years old. Another good way of kicking the kids in the teeth.

what does that happen what image does that give to the rest of the team oh son you can play week in week out apart from when we play top of the league, its like fathers picking their kids above more talented players when they are crap, have you seen any evidence of that ADG?
