........and heres me thinking I am going to support my team when really it is a 'shitty midweek game in a shitty stadium in a shitty competition'.

The people I was talking about were the people who where going but have now dropped out. Not those that had no intention of going.

Well I'm going.

I've been looking forward to the beginning of the season for so long just can't contemplate staying at home.

I know there are nicer places to go than Scunthorpe on a wet Tuesday evening, with all due respect to the locals, and a home draw would have been kinder and cheaper but what if we put in the performance of a lifetime. I would hate to miss it.

I'm not going. Would have needed to get out of work early. Plus, I'm skint.
Money is the only thing that stops me going to all the away games. I'd happily go to them all if I could afford it. sadx

I was in Scunny last week and surprised to find it only half as grotty as I'd feared.

Why is no one asking the obvious question, what the hell were you doing in Scunthorpe last week?

That Humberside one-way system is very confusing

What about the Tottenham game, the Sheff Weds game, and the two Arsenal games. There was plenty of excitment when we played these.

If we got a home tie against boro, sunderland, newcastle even someone like man city or Everton i'm sure there's be plenty of interest and financial rewards for the club.

Those games were played in a different era when everyone took this cup seriously. Many of the big clubs dont even want to enter it now.

And an away draw against a premiershit team will be played in a half empty stadium. Its unfair on pools and the likes but its a fact.

And if we draw, say Manure, at home, of course we would all pay to wtach it, but you would be deluded if you thought you would be watching manures best 11.

IOR wouldn't have budgeted for winning last night and if we can get a decent team in the next round, home or away, perhaps they might even consider investing the money in a new striker? You never know.....

Though I fully expect us to get some sh*t like Portsmouth away.
