It was suggested on a thread about possibly doing some Mr Escape Goat T-shirts.

I would be interested to know if there was any demand for such a thing. If so then I am open to suggestions as to what you would like the t-shirts to look like. Im more than happy to spend a few hours doing a decent image of him. Poolsdonkey has said that he may be able to get the image onto the t-shirts.

Let me know what you think.

Right, well how about some sugggestions as to what you would like on the shirts. I will then try and design something over the next day or two.

Obviously it will include Mr Escape Goat, his spade, Pooliebunker address.

Poolsdonkey, could you maybe find out how much each t-shirt would cost?

Cheers

Any pictures?

I just think bog-standard polo shirts are a bit naff.

I'll have one.

Think it should be the same as the banner 'Escape Goat on Tour 2007-2008'
Aswell as Mt Escape Goat himself with spade in tow.

thrilled

I concur. No need to have the words "escape goat" on it, just "www.pooliebunker.co.uk"
Keep some mystery; make people ask questions.
And I'll have one in each shirt style please!

Are you gonna sell out of large and xlarge after about 2 days but have about 500 small shirts left???

Oh and take about 3 months to get another order in?

ps the website address maybe along the bottom of the back might look quite smart, kinda like where it says "never say die"

I think Tree has it spot on, how about Mr Escape Goat on the Front and the bunker addy on the back in small letters. It keeps a bit of intrigue and still promotes the site at the same time. Obviously people will be asking wtf the goat is all the time so word of mouth re the site will get round!

Should I start designing the goat tonight. I will post a few and you guys can vote on the favourite.

I agree with Tree's suggestion about the address being small a la never say die, and on the back.

Do you mean 'your' as in each persons own id or my id?

It would probably be more classy without a name tbh.

It would be nice to do a t-shirt that is a bit classy and not tacky, one that can be worn to the pub etc without feeling too underdressed.

Will do some mock-ups tonight.

Have you thought about doing it on the Bunker shop me and Daniel Gaunt set up? That way you don't have to order them in bulk and you pay for your size; they print it for you after you've placed the order. There's a wide array of stock t-shirts there and you get home delivery in no time. Sadly I've forgotten the details so I'll have to get back in touch with The Gaunt given the inbox messages have gone now there's a new board!

Just a minute I've thought of a snag. All the men will be nice and anonymous, shirts without ID and all that, but only a very few women post regularly on the Bunker. People like Chrissie, Tigga and I would be outed immediately if we bought these shirts. Then we wouldn't be able to insult fellow Bunkerites any more for fear of reprisals at matches

No problem: the women can put their name on and thereby remain anonymous.

Ideally you need to do it as some kind of vector image so thats its resizable easily if you want it on these t-shirts so using Macromedia Freehand or something like that would do the trick.

Will do Poolie Girl. Cheers

The background will be transparent therefore I need to save the image as the most appropriate type. Obviously jpeg and bitmap is out. I know gif supports transparency. thoughts?

Do it professionally using alpha layers and CMYK color components. The printers will (or ought to if they are any good) appreciate that.
PSD format is your boy!

Rather than using vector images for resizing (which is the ideal answer in many applications but not this one I feel), you can just churn out different size images by resizing in photoshop.

If you don't have photoshop I may be able to help you (shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!).

Go for a PNG, still allows the transparency but closer to truecolour than a GIF.

Fireworks and Freehand will both let you save vector images under the PNG format.

Well you see it's like this - we all allegedly support a football team called Pools which brings us together more often than we might do if things were left to chance.
It was totally cool on Saturday knowing that during my stay in England I could travel to some obscure town in the home counties and find people I knew at the drop of a hat. And I was able to identify about ten people I know thanks to the bunker, apart from seeing one MAD face I've been talking to for years on the net without ever meeting.
