To be fair todays performance was a world away from the Scott team that played Bradford, we played well today and where without doubt the better side.

is mcunnie any better at right back than ben clark? is moore any better than joel of effy ? is barrett any better than provett ? will humps join the bench warmers when monky is back ?

opinions, opinions. its all about opinions.

we were the best team yesterday chip except the final 3rd (until joel came on and we looked a bit livelier), i think monky should definitely get a game over richie in his preferred position of left wing.

FFS Surely there is no shadow of a doubt that Monkhouse will replace Ritchie on the left wing. Monkhouse is 10 times the player Ritchie is. TBH im probably 10 times the players Ritchie is.

If Ritchie keeps the left wing position after Monkhouse returns from his ban then I think a lot of us would have serious doubts about Wilson.

It wont happen im sure sctatchinghead . Well I prey it doesnt anyway :!:

I have to say Im very disappointed that Ben Clark gets left on the bench,he proved himself without any doubt last season. We are a better team with Ben in it.
Being the better side is totally irrelevant, being the winning side is what matters & to do that you have to score goals, plain & simple

I thought Elliott was good yesterday, particularly in the first half and lets not forget it was the first competitive game for that defence. Godwi is a good central defender but a similar type of player to Nelse. I think Clark and Nelson compliment each other better. Besides, this is trying to fix what isn't broken, the problem in defence last season if there was one was at the full back position not central defence.

The forward line does worry me though.

It's obvious that when people watch a match there are several opinions of the same game and even the same incidents during the game. I feel particularly sorry for Ben Clark who has never let the team down, performed at a high standard and has shown affection for the club. At the same time I thought Godwin Antwi was our best player and Michael Nelson not far behind him. I don't think that Clark will want to spend too long on the bench. I thought McCunnie looked a bit out of his depth and definitely not a patch on Mickey Barron’s performances last season. McCunnie looked nervous and afraid to venture forward, maybe that was his instruction to hold the right defensive slot, no matter what. I hope he will grow in confidence & do well. I was not impressed with Elliot especially after we had gone 1 down, I don’t know if Ritchie would have done better in that position on the day, it’s impossible to tell. Ritchie had a poor game, plenty of effort but poor distribution and looked out of place in that position. I was not impressed with Lee-Barrett, again maybe nerves; it was his first ever league start I think. I’m a bit old fashioned and think a team needs a solid spine, that is a good keeper, good central defender(s) and a good central striker plus preferably a good central midfielder. For me the keeper & striker roles were below par yesterday. Barker & Moore didn’t compliment each other and I was surprised that when Joel came on it was to replace Humps & not Moore. I guess there will be many twists & turns in the line up as the season progresses, the transfer window is still open & we have competition for all places.
Just my opinion, based on seeing the Luton game – I know others may not agree but that’s how it is.

I honestly don't see how McCunnie looked 'out of his depth' he got beaten once a little too easily in the first half but other than that his performance was a solid one. He certainly doesn't hold back in the tackle and has a bit more quality on the ball than Barron. MB obviously adds something else to the term in terms of organisation but 4 of the 5 at the back yesterday including the keeper where making debuts for the club so bearing that in mind I thought defensively we looked pretty good. I can't remember the wingers getting around the back of us on many occasions putting pressure on us, Luton didn't win a corner until the 84th minute which they scored from.

I didn't see a problem with either full back yesterday yet others are suggesting otherwise.
