I don't know how families can afford it - I really don't. With school trips, computer games, kids clothes as well as the usual taxes, rent and utilities it must be a struggle for some.....

I dread to think, last season I did over 20 away games and about ten home games. Aways are mostly cheaper than home games for me, although wherever possible I try to make a weekend of them. Eg playing at Swansea means me and our lass stopping at her mates in Cardiff for a night out. Carlisle away will be convenient after new year in Manchester too.

Ditto.

Going to matches, buying season tickets, shirts etc doesn't get questioned.

I'd hate to add up the cost of a season if we included the pre and post match pub costs too!

It is scary how much you spend over the year. I save up £25 a month over the year in order to pay for my season ticket cause if I didn't then I just wouldn't be able to afford to go to all the home games.

I was lucky this year 'cause I managed to get a student ticket which only cost me £179. And I can use the left over money to go to a few away games.

I'm going to try and do that this season, thinking of sticking a tenner away each game I go to.

For the record, I've reduced the dog's meals by 50g's, it's home made sandwiches for lunch until Christmas, the car is running on used veggy oil and the grass isn't getting cut between now and the last week in September, I'll be collecting my season ticket today.

I work in finance, and also run a Christmas savings club which collects and saves around £22k per year . I'm very good at saving!

When I still lived in Dorset my mate & I used to travel to about 20 home games a season only missing Mid Week or due to illness or being on duty and unable to swap.
The train cost £102 return but we had 6 or 8 free tickets a year and also a free railcard, 1 or sometimes 2 nights in a B&B or pub either here or at Darlo (mates home town)
Add to 2 or 3 nights very heavy drinking and a bag of chips here and there as required.

The away games we tried not to stop over night so didn't cost anything like as much as the home games and we managed about 15 of them.

The killer was getting the 4.00am train from Weymouth to London to start the journey, best bit was the look of disbelief on the Bournemouth fans faces when we played them that 2 very drunk Poolies had taken over the buffet before they had even got on the train.

Did about 40 games last season. Say 20 home, 20 away.

20 home= 30 quid each. Thats 600 quid.

Away= £20 travel, £16 entry, £15 alcohol, £10 food. 1200 quid

Probably 2 grand all thrown in confised confised

Ha!!!!!

A QS doing a costing.......

When he's done it, divide it by four and subtract your credit card big number from it.

Then half it again and you'll be somewhere near the truth, if you take a sum equivalent to his salary and his bosses, wife's and Richard Bransons salary off it. Then knock two 00's off the end. violin violin violin

No mate.

Cheese. Decent cheese. It's all processed here and it's just fat.

I found some Roquefort when I was in Bangkok and bought some but it was seven quid for about a quarter of a pound.

I miss QS's like I'd miss a sharp spike through the eye.
