Rightio, seeing as it appears from people on here that they aren't buying season tickets this season and accept that they won't be able to make it to every home game due to cost, what do people think our average attendance will be this season?

Surely it will be down on all of the last five as the people saying they can't afford all of the games on here are people who I would consider die-hard supporters and if they are in this position then obviously the effect will be magnified on the part timers.

Are we going to average about 4,250 over the season?

It depends on how well the team does. If the team starts to struggle then we will struggle to get more than 3500 for some games (Oient and Chelts). Like ADG I will be at every game even though I think 20 quid is too expensive.......

i think 4,000 as of the reasons quoted by other posts but if we do well i say in region of 4,500 also we have to take into account teams like leeds, forest and millwall would will bring a lot of awy fans which will propel the average attendance

I think the we'll always get 4000 ish pools fans through the gates for most games this season, but the bigger games of forest, leeds etc we get more home and more away fans.

Its the away fans that boost our gates in league 1 you still get decent support even if it is p!ss!ng down on a cold february tuesday night

What everyone is saying on this thread is the case for every single season, a £2 increase isn't going to make a difference. Do people honestly believe people who'd have considered coming to the Vic for a game last season won't this because of a slight price increase? You get the period before Christmas where money is tight every year we had a few sub 4,000 crowds in that period last season and the one before. The chances are the people who had to miss a couple of games last season for financial reasons will do this year as well.

If we are playing well we will get good crowds if we aren't they'll drop its all common sense.

People are going way OTT about the matchday price increase, which is basically in line with every other club in our league. I'd be amazed if it had any effect on our gates.

there has been a drop in season ticket sales

Is this confirmed fact?

And if so from where?

Cos the nice lady who sold me mine a fortnight ago told me that we'd sold more at that stage than we had by Christmas last season.

Nah.

And to be honest the shop was that busy flogging season tickets like hot cakes that I couldn't really push her for an answer on that one.
