Just a thought as I go to bed. Is this piece of music performed by Jethro Tull, one of the highlights of the 20th Century, or is it just me?

an excellent piece from an excellent album by an excellent band. Ian Anderson is a genius. That word gets used too casually, but the man is a legend.

Well if it was played Baroque style on a lute without any syncopation and without changing the middle bit, yes it would surely have brought the Bach house down. So maybe we should call it a draw. :)

That took me back - excellent to see and hear again - wonderful bass player Glen Cornick. Wild Turkey, the band he formed after being in Tull were / are amongst my favourites.

This is how I like my vi-o-linists to look and my Led Zepp covers to sound!

And if Bach had had access to an electric guitar would he have written this?

Mr Billingham, that's what I call a treat.

Saw Jethro live when I was about 20....one of my very best memories of London in that era. I think Ian Anderson bought a Scottish Island and went to live on it...is that right?

I did of course realise that Tull are just a 18th century 'covers' band. But it's still good innit.

My first ever musical purchase was a 7" vinyl Jethro Tull's 'Living In The Past.' Pye Records I seem to recall.

Bruce Moore's naturally.....

Yet again AndyP - master of the musical trivia knowledge. You need to be on some TV quiz show without a doubt.

Name that Tune with AndyP

- mind you, you'd have to ring me for the NMA questions!!

1969 then, yet I could have sworn it was on a pink label, naturally it's long gone now. I think Is wapped it for something by the Who with Ashy!!
