I've only just noticed mine, I don't know where people get the impression that i am negative from. I'm nothing like Headlander. I just don't have a pair of rose tinted specs like some. I always thought that I was crap at spelling as well which is why I stick to words that I know......

You have been fairly negative of late, people who are negative always use the 'I don't wear rose tinted specs line' Its just an excuse to not be positive about much.

On the face of things we have just been promoted for only the fourth time in our history, have a top manager and our squad looks a hell of a lot stronger than last season. We have been in worse places pre season.Yet every vibe you give off is that we are in for a season of struggle. People seem slightly underwhelmed by the pre season signings but the last time people got excited about them was before 2005/2006 and we all know what happened then.

PJ - you are one of my favourite posters, you talk sense a lot of the time but it is fair to say that you own a pair of rose tinted specs. You will turn almost any decision made by Pools into a positive.

On Tony Sweeney - I don't think he is good enough, he hasn't really developed has he after an impressive season a couple of years ago. He doesn't control games, it is almost like we don't have a midfield when he plays sometimes. his goals have also dried up, give me Boland and Liddle any time. I hope he does brilliantly next season but I can't see it.

On Lee-Barrett - all I said was that we had lost a very good keeper and it was disappointing that we replaced him with someone who has hardly played. His previous clubs had mixed reactions about him, names like Steve Phillips and that lad from Cardiff were being mentioned so it was a little bit of a disappointment when we didn't sign one of them. Lee Barrett will hopefully prove to be an excellent signing, he played brilliantly against the mags.

I don't think that we are in for a season of struggle - I have always said I expect Pools to stay up comfortably but none of the signings have really been that exciting have they...? I'm still well pissed off that we didn't make any attempt to get Boydy back as I feel we could well do with a bit more creativeness in the final third of the pitch.......

Fair do's Jonny, you are probably right I have similar 'debates' with my best mates who I go to Pools with every week and a couple of them are fair more negative than you :shock:

I won't agree with you about Sweeney at this moment in time though.
