A novel after 20,000 leagues under the sea, which was critiqued as being ridiculous propaganda by some and too far fetched even by his own standards by his publisher. The book, I believe, was never published. In the book he described horseless carriages, shopping centres with electricity etc ( none of which had been invented) but his publishers at the time decided his imagination had gone too far,

Can you imagine a nostradamus type person 20 year ago saying

, the working man won't be able to smoke in a working mans club, and you will get fined for chucking a tab out of the window of your car, you will not be able to stick your fingers up at a bobby but if you get yerself addicted to smack you will get free shopping vouchers, instead of having 6 schools in Hartlepool you will have you five and the hospital will be under threat of closure, the town will have ghost ships at one end and tall ships at the other there will be a mosque to cater for 500 Muslims built some 3 miles away from a nuclear power station at the time of the worst terrorist attacks in western history. And ADG stops eating pies

Ok the last bit sounds stupid
bbolt
