Before a ball had even kicked one Town End wag on see-ing Jon Daly had been selected in the starting line-up....

"I don't care even if he scores a hat-trick, he's not good enough!"

The same wag on see-ing us kick towards the Town End for the 1st half...

"We won the toss, we won the toss, the only reason I can think offis that he (Daly) won get stick during the 2nd half"

Well Daly didnt score a hat-trick and the bloke in the Town end was still right...he isnt good enough.

All too predictable.

Daly did everything that was asked of him in the 1st half, held the ball up well, won his fair share of headers, had goal attempts and he even took his goal well, just a shame it was at the wrong end!

Got to agree, Daly was one of the few decent players today and when he went off we looked even worse going forward, Daly can't head a ball so why do we try to play it to his head, when he was given it at chest height or at his feet he did the business today.
If he's as ineffective as some folk claim how come it went so flat up front when he went off, he must be doing something.
By the way, I'm not Daly's biggest fan and probably never will be but I thought he did well today and on Tuesday gone.

I just wish Daly'd get his timing right on headers. I noted two occasions where he could've jumped again for it as his first effort was so early

Daly isnt good enough, for a so called 'target man' his ariel ability is pathetic,he should be winning headers all day, seeing as though he's 6 foot 3",like GP says he jumps far too early for the ball and even against shorter players gets easily beaten in the air.

His scoring record is also garbage,20 league goals in 6 years :? exactly the same as Sweeney, only Sweeney is a midfielder and his tally only spans 4 years.

If ever a player is living off 1 goal, its him.

He's not good enough and the sooner we get shot of him the better.

the reason wilson is persisting with Daly is it is the only way he can ship him out

well he has now started 4 games for us this season, and we havent scored while hes been on the pitch. he cant head the ball, he has no pace whatsoever, he cant turn a man, he cant beat a man. he can chest a ball down and lay it off to a full back who then lobs it into the arms of their keeper. as billy horner said today

" hes no use whatsoever."

hes a striker ffs. hes not there to lay balls off, hes there to score fookin goals.

sorry but for a moment there I thought you were holding billy horner up as the all seeing eye.ironic really as the threads title just about sums his comment up.
