No but I'm toying with the idea of one of these bad boys!:

Image

Someone I'm doing some business with makes them and they've offered me one at cost, hand picked off the production line and customised to spec. I.e. blue and white stripes with a big red ships wheel on it.

They do 50KPH, 100Km on one charge and just plug into the mains. You don't need a helmet or driving licence or insurance or tax or owt. You'll all want one in the near future and I'll be your man!!

Well let me work this out.....(rubs chin)..........6 grand a year to run a car, half your life in traffic jams, vandalism, theft, police harassment, speeding tickets, road rage, lane hogs, boy racers, parking charges/tickets......or the same rules as riding a bike and just plug it in once every couple of days........It is true though that riding a nice electric scooter won't make you think your dick is bigger.

Oh by the way, they're 300 quid each. Some mountain bikes are dearer.

Hey! This is a moped thread. Start your own scooter thread y'all!!

And no, I didn't have a Raleigh Runabout nor a French Motobécane (later to become MBK).

I want one as well. But it can't be the same rules as riding a bike surely or all the sprogs from the manor would have one surely?

Ermmmm....you'd have to check with the DVLA, but here in China it's the same rules as riding a bike and I'm guessing the definitions of 'vehicles' are much the same the world over.

I reckon they simply haven't taken off yet in England is all. Up to now, electric bikes were just that, looked like bicycles, and you can buy one in the supermarket here for 100 quid. These are more sophisticated obviously.

I forgot that you were in China. If they were ever to take off here the government would do all that they could to put either a stop to them or fleece the owners of them....

You are absolutely correct, totally ignoring that they don't have carbon emissions they would look at the lost road tax, petrol duty, insurance premium tax, and VAT. This is why they killed the C5.
