All the 'superstar' Geordie footballers aside, has anyone seen anyone famous recently?

I was manning a stand at a trade show in Harrogate on Tuesday, and Linda Barker walked past. Quite haggard looking I have to say.

Then, driving down the A1 on Wednesday night near Leeds, I overtook a Porsche Boxster, which I think was being driven by the Springwatch presenter Kate 'mouth-big-enough-to-get-yer-back-wheels-in' Humble.

It seems Leeds is the place to be for starspotting.

Michael Owen was in Hartlepool on Tuesday though.

I was driving home on the A19 the other week and went past a BMW convertabile 8 series, the driver looked like Shay Given, might not have been as well like.

I once walked into Will Carling, I was in the Rugby store at Twickenham and as I turned round I walked straight into him, he was massive I didn't realise he was that tall

It will not have been Shay, as they do not make an 8 series convertible, though it may well have been Mr BMW on a test drive?

The 3 numbers on the back of the car started with an 8 so I assumed it was an 8 series car, but hey what do I know. I bow down to your superior car knowledge Mr One :uhoh: Image

It may well have been an 8 series but they didn't do a convertible, quite an old car now so am sure Shay would be able to do a bit better (he drives a 4x4 by the way).

See I told you all, I add a touch of class, and facts based class to this message board, without me it would be Rivals Part 2.

I stood right next to David Walliams whilst watching The White Stripes at Glastonbury 2002. The blokes about 8 feet tall. This was before his Little Britain days though. I knew him from Rock Profiles.

David Walliams was at the Kings Of Leon concert at Hammersmith Apollo a few months ago. Sat just near us, your right he is a tall geezer.

Saw Gwyneth Paltrow the other week in Carnaby Street, if that counts as a famous person.

Also bumped into Alex Ferguson in 42nd Street about 15 years ago...and also at Aberdeen airport a few times.

Although I object to the accusations as I think they are unfair it is 100% true, it is when the train derailed on Newcastle Bridge and he didnt want to get the bus so he waited for a car, for about two hours, he had the guy from Black Grape outside on his mobile for ages trying to arrange it whilst he read The Sun whilst keeping his head down with a glass of water. Sadly Mr One tried to buy the reformed alchaholic a drink and talk crap at him until I could focus to get out of the pub.

Bill Steel was at a Pools presentation night, in the Boilermakers I think. It was a few years ago, I think Kenny Lowe was still a junior with us at the time. I persuaded him to come over and say hello to my mother, it made her night, and she stills talks about it now.

My mam grew up in Borrowdale (or possibly Patterdale) Street, she said it was quite respectable until relatively recently.

That type of housing lends itself to choriness unfortunately. It's sad when places have to be pulled down, but when you look at parts of Glasgow before and after the slum clearances it makes sense.

I once sat opposite Dave Stewart off of The Eurythmics, and his Mrs, Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama and Shakespears Sister fame, whilst having a meal at Lumley Castle.

There was a photographer going round taking everyones picture, and you could buy it at the end of the evening.
Anyhoo, when we seen the photo of Dave and his bird, we noticed that we (me, my mate and partners) were also in the picture, so we.....err....pinched it....as proof like! rolfl

Nice people by the way!!! (Them, not us...nice people wouldnt nick somebody elses photograph!!!)
