Now who could I be on about?

Well, the little prick was in The Mail on Monday night photographed in his "local pub" as part of some poncey attention seeking scheme or other.

Not really worthy of paper space in itself, but the little prick, aka as our MP if you hadn't already guessed, was in The White House. sctatchinghead

I'm led to believe that he lives on Shanty Cuthbert, in which case his "local pub" would be the Gillen Arms, or at a push maybe the Aldi Arms.

SO why was the pretentious little prick posing in The White House? It's cos of people like him that I avoid that place like the plague. It IS my local pub but cos it is full of his kind who get buses and taxis there then it's not worth the time of day.

Does anybody have any idea why people travel across town to congregate in there apart from the fact that they are all sad posing wnkers?

Sorry for the rant but it really does my head in. banghead

I do actually drink in there, but not because I'm a sad posing w*nker. I just like the pub. And yeah, I do have to get a cab there but me and all my mate live all over town so it's a central place.

I walk past the place to go for a drink. Occassionally we will pop in for one on the way past just to laugh at all of the titends hanging about in there. It's like an over 50s knocking shop at times and some of the sights (old uns and younger uns) have you laughing out loud and staring at people rolfl rolfl

Surely that's a good reason for going?! It may also however result in a punch on the nose if you're not careful

It's a good reason to pop in for a swift one to break up the walk now and again.

But nothing more!

Weird how things change. When I wor a lass the White House was full of hippie types. But perhaps the current clientele is just them grown up....

Didn't the 'White House' used to be in Stranton, next to the Brewery
or have my ragged brain cells, let me down again confised

'The Blackies' => 'The White House' , close (not). :uhoh:
Maybe it's brain cell, now.

I'm sure there was a pub, known colloquially as 'The White House'
back in the 70's / 80's

Not too far from the brewery there was the Clansman, commonly known as "The Shite House"

Either way, its full of sad fooks. Think of The Park when you were 18, then try to imagine the same with the White House, but transfer the 18 year olds for 40 odd year old sad bastads.

But that's just mean. Just because you have a wife who encourages you to watch Diana concerts. Not everyone has that support

Well me and my mates aren't like that. We usually go in on a Friday night, have a bottle of wine each and then head off into town about ten - half ten ish.

That sounds just like the Clansman , back in the 80's

except you'd get £2.67

Not that I ever went in like, I was a Stranton lad.
One of Alfie Smithson's best customers, whatever time it was

Which probably accounts for why I got the Blackie's confused with the White House

I like the White House, I think it's ok. There are no where near as many dickheads in the white house as you get down the town. The tarts in there are mainly all make up and no knickers but you can't really complain about that.

I'd struggle to think of a better watering hole in this town although The Buffs (church st) is also very good......
