...but your mates think were total shit, would spend their whole time slagging him off while you would quietly 'rate' him.

Me- Tommy Butler (nothing to do with the fact he likes his arsehole tickled)

and Matty Robson

I liked Fitzpatrick too, quick player with a good shot on him. As the Darlo keeper in 1999 ish found out.

Brightwell though?!?

Brightwell wasn't given a fair chance in my opinion. I think we only had him for a year before he was released. He was tricky and pacy but very raw. We have retained far worse players......

You could say Istead never got a fair ctack of the whip in terms of starts, I would say he never warranted selection and was very lucky to clock up as many football league appearances as he did, albeit as a sub.

He was pap though wasn't he?

I liked Gustavo, I thought Mark Robinson was decent as well, no where near as bad as what people made out.

Darren Williams. Coolest man I've seen on the ball for a lot of years, always seemed to have that extra space under pressure. Suffered from Scott-itis though.

Sweeney! Gets slated around by where I stand but we miss him when he's not there.
Steve Howard would probably be the main one. He got hammered week after week but his slide tackles on a wet pitch made him my favourite player and must of terrified the opposition defenders.

Kevin Johnson, when he was on his game. A good old fashioned winger, who could beat a man with pure skill and great first touch/ball control. Unfortunately those games were not too frequent in the end!!!!

John Brackstone... saw him as a youngster at Berwick pre-season and he looked like he had a lovely, calm and composed touch on him with a very sweet left foot......still think he might make it one day...

Malcolm Poskett...just for a few weeks every time he got the ball I thought he was just going to take on all eleven of the opposition and score......occasionally he nearly did.

Derrick Downing....for that goal against Ipswich.
