Had appalling injury luck and Mansfield have a few in front of him right now…wonder if they would consider a half season loan with us ?
Would be great up front with Reid if mobility not too shot

Maybe over optimistic to think they’d be interested

Nigel Clough was on Talksport his morning. Jeff mentioned Oates & Clough confirmed he's injured again, after missing the last 20 months !

thats a shame he's injured again--that season he had with us he will likely remember as the best of his career

Cracking player in the Promotion season no doubt the prime of his career.

Someone like him would be more than welcome.

Our keeper needs some help at the opposite end to take the pressure of him.

I couldn't see SG wanting a player that has played only 18 games in the last 2 seasons due to injuries. He's a strange one mind, one of the few players who were better for us second time around, always looked as if he was blowing out of his arse and often subbed as it seemed 90 minutes was too much for him.
I'd rather we were looking at an out and out winger or the likes of Blackett at South Shields.

I don't think he'd come back here anyway after the way he left. He did the dirty and knows it.

fot me oates was only good when we had armtrong in the side. as for blackett there must be a good reason why he is still there and if its the paRT time football thing i am sure we could accomodate him doing that. the club has had a number of those in the past.

Might as well took a chance on keeping Mancini than signing Oates, we have already got Walker who has been injury prone in the past.

I suppose the trouble was the gamble of winning the play-offs…lose and you’re back where you started and win and you’re back in the League.
I got the impression he wanted to be away though.
Anyway, he’s history, just another ‘what if’.
