Loan signing GK for the season:

Quote:
Goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright was delighted to win three awards with loan club Grimsby Town after a successful spell with the Mariners.

The 22-year-old won all three Young Player of the Year awards after keeping six clean sheets in 32 appearances for Grimsby, featuring in Sky Bet League Two, EFL Trophy, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Missing the final six league games of the season due to injury, the former England youth international has enjoyed his loan with his hometown club, after spells with Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers the campaign before.

Some coup that!

Sounds like an excellent signing.

But with our luck we could have an injury prone goalkeeper.

At least he will be adept and experienced in picking the ball out of the net.

so a last minute loanee no one has heard of, and we go into the season with the likely starter being a keeper from last year we didnt rate?
Basically the same as last year with Dixon?

Who did you expect Pools to sign? Martin Dubravka off Newcastle? They're all players we've never heard of, this is League 5
Cartwright has played for England at U-18 and U-20 level, is still under contract at Hull City, and should be a better prospect than all the trialist keepers Grayson has looked at and shown the door.

Hopefully you'll get your money's worth out of him Loyal.

He is still young and probably has a better track record than anyone else on Pools' books. I would like to see hin go straight into the team at Yeovil.

Ye he's got to start and not be judged until after the 98th minute..

I'm still expecting 4 pts from the first 2 games.

I very much doubt this keeper has come here to sit on the bench for a full season. I reckon he'll start tomorrow, it's easier for a new keeper to come into a side fresh than an outfielder and he'll have done his pre-season at a Championship club - even in house practice matches will be as useful to a keeper as our friendly schedule has been.
Let's hope he's a good one and let's give him a few games before judging.

To be fair….Loyal is still pining for the return of the keeper whose name we cannot speak….
