Booths are now being installed at U.K. departure points for entry into the EU for non EU citizens, not just U.K. citizens, you will be required to have a photo and biometric fingerprints taken.

The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) is scheduled to start on the October 12, 2025, once you have done it the first time it’s valid for 3 years providing your passport doesn’t expire before then.

The Entry/Exit System is a key part of improving how we the EU manage our external borders. It will help us track who is entering and leaving the EU. This will strengthen security in the Schengen Area by helping us identify overstayers, prevent irregular movements, and reduce document and identity fraud

Once this system is in place and up to speed their will be a second online application,
ETIAS – European Travel Information and Authorisation System similar to the ESTA system used when you travel to The States, the EU one will cost €7.
Yes Brexit has brought some great benefits, it’s not solely for U.K. citizens it’s for all non EU citizens.

Most foreigners including EU citizens need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to visit the UK costing £16 although as yet not the photo or biometric fingerprint.
My partner has had 4 UK Tourist Visas, biometric fingerprints are required, we have to go to a Visa Centre in Bangkok to have them taken. When you enter the U.K. they are checked at the airport by Border Control.

It works in Thailand but you need plenty of staff to assist, 35 million plus tourist enter Thailand every year, you have to complete online before you travel a Thailand Digital Arrival Card, TDAC, it’s currently free. On arrival you proceed to immigration where you have your passport checked/stamped, photo and fingerprints taken by an immigration officer, the queues can be horrendous at times depending on how many flights have arrived but give the Thais there due they are well organised and have plenty of check in desks and open more as and when required, never had to wait more than half an hour. They are now installing automatic gates where you get your photo taken and fingerprints taken with out going to a check in desk.
