Well they're on strike again! What do we all think?

Personally, this time I think they're taking it too far.

They had a whopping pay rise last year, a decent one offered this year - and government offers of better conditions for the near future.

Yet this still isn't enough.

Also (I've been told this from a doctor) it's the time of year where young student graduates are due to have their induction week, however a lot of the doctors will be missing meaning it will knacker their plans too.

they want parity to the position they were in 17 years ago. big problem is many other workers in the private and the public sectors think the same but make the best of a bad situation. question to ask is should they be seen as a special case or just intelligent people doing a job they want to do an not work forced upon us.

Good on Wes Streeting ….says the striking doctors last time were doing locum work to cover their wages on strike, he’s closed that off…no money does sharpen people’s thinking.

They are taking the piss- 28% rise in one year and they're still whining.

I've lost out on thousands in the last 17 years too with constant pay freezes, or a token 1%, whilst also having my 'gold plated' pension downgraded to pewter - even though I'm paying more in.

In fact the years we did get a rise, they took more off us in pension contributions so I ended up actually worse off. That's without the rise in the cost of living and the Liz Truss disaster, which is still costing me monthly, in increased mortgage repayments.

Think they should be grateful for what they've been offered and get on with the job they're paid to do. Can't see the public supporting them, should this continue.

think public support has dwindled as there financial situation is closer to yours than theres. they like others knew the situation regarding pay and conditions when they decided to take up the job and unlike many more they were not forced into a job because it was the only option available to keep there pride in working for a living.

it does not men he isn,t wrong. pity its not from the present labour party and the other alternative was thatchers tories. we might have real choice then and not just on a fringe party being popular due to that.

You mean hold companies/governments to ransom, plenty tried but failed the miners for one.
The difference is private companies won’t be held to ransom, I spent over 30 days on strike offshore in the southern sector of the North Sea, we were told our ‘demands’ would be met, parity with the workers in the Northern sector of offshore workers. Nope as soon as we returned onshore the companies back tracked then sacked us all eventually.
In the 80s North Sea workers went on strike for better terms and conditions, they weren’t unionised, anyone who mentioned unions was NRB’d not required back.it was fallacy that rig workers were on mega bucks. Again the oil companies just sacked everyone and you were invited back on reduced terms and conditions.

Absolutely no sympathy, they got a huge increase last year by holding labour to Ransom, now they are doing it again. That's just one of the problems with a labour government though. It will be interesting to see what the government do next, they surely can't cave again

They keep quoting the basic hourly rate for their job while failing to mention all the the mandatory allowances they receive…they’re looking naive and self obsessed and not understanding that public opinion can turn quickly on those basically taking the piss.
They are living up to the ‘junior’ title with their total lack of relativity to other wage earners.

they have even changed there title to resident doctors to make a bigger case to the public.
