I M F

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Saying R. Reeves has 3 choices.
Either scrap
Triple Lock
Raise taxes or charge for the NHS.

Looks like the next budget will be brutal.

If the Tories had got into power they would have scrapped the Triple Lock, Reform haven’t committed themselves yet. Labour, might, the younger generation can’t understand why pensioners get a guaranteed rise every year. What they don’t realise is the State Pension is around 50% of the living wage and in some cases taxed.
What needs to looked at is the tax threshold for pensioners, it should be raised so the State Pension isn’t taxed.

During the election campaign the Tories were proposing Triple Lock Plus which was a guarantee that State Pension would never be taxed. They never gave any indication they would scrap the Triple Lock or remove WFA.

Someone at some time will have to scrap the Triple Lock, this has been known for quite some time but all of our political parties would sooner use the situation as a political football than work together, and that just sums up politics and politicians. They always put party in front of country.
