Why has the Moderators and Politics thread been locked but blatant racist posts/threads aren't locked or deleted??

Because it had been resolved, Pooly Imp wanted a different section for politics and one for football.
Derwent said no and after having read the thread again, nearly everyone was against having different sections.
Your reference to blatant racists posts/threads were deemed to be opinions by the mods.
And as derwent said in his reply, you don't have to read topics that don't interest you.

We are an open forum and sectionalising categories is not considered necessary.
No further discussion was necessary and so the topic was closed, nothing more nothing less. There was nothing wrong with the topic as such but as it had been answered, it was no longer needed. A waiting time was allowed in order for people to comment.
If you are so concerned about the opinions of fellow posters you have two options, either educate them by reasoned debate or ignore them. Shutting Englishmen up when they are concerned with what is happening is not going to be achieved by throwing the racist card at them. That ploy is not working so I suggest an alternative is researched.

Locking threads is rare and removing them is rarer still. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I have resorted to that action. I think it's two or maybe three.

Same as someone having the opinion that the Japanese football team should be full of Japanese lads of Japanese ethnicity.
I think it was agreed on the thread that it was ethnicity of the person that some people thought should decide the national sides of each country.
If I were of Pakistani ethnicity but born in England, I would want to play for the Pakistani cricket team rather than the England one.
Same if I were of white english ethnicity but born in India, I would want to play for England not India.

I don't think you can speak for everyone when you say your thoughts on if you were of pakistani heritage. Most people are born in the UK and feel much more british than the place of their heritage/where their parents were born, because they have lived in the UK permanently and only ever visited the place of their heritage. So you're trying to stamp your opinion on those who have actual lived experience of it.
Saying that black people shouldn't play for England is a racist opinion I'm afraid.

In my opinion, I prefer a national side to look like what I think the national side should look like.
Plain and simple! Other may disagree, that is fair enough, but that is my opinion.

If a white english lad wants the English cricket team to look like what I think the Indian cricket team should look like, then that is his opinion, his viewpoint.

And if I saw the Pakistani cricket team full of what I would class as white english lads, then it would not sit right with me.
It may sit right with others, then that is fair enough, we all have different opinions and ideas etc.

There is nothing better for me than seeing a group of lads say from Ghana, they are all black, playing for their national side.

We have this discussion at work regularly. The company I work for has a very clear Diversity plan in the UK and USA but farms work out to India where their Diversity percentage is 0%.

The current government are processing a massive backlog created by the tories who stupidly thought that they could just ship them all to Rwanda....2 went....voluntary.

They're illegal arrivals regardless of the fact that they claim asylum. You can't just rock up in a foreign country without papers, that is illegal. Most countries hold them in detention centres while they are processed due to the risk they may pose, we put them up in far better places and give them pocket money and mobiles. No wonder they're desperate to get here.
Would anyone on here invite the government to send any of them to stay in their homes while they were processed btw? No wonder people don't want them housed anywhere near them.

There wasn’t ..the politicians caved in to media pressure…one ‘resident’ claimed he was scared of the water, didn’t stop stop him jumping on an overinflated inner tube to cross the channel.

its quite simple really. if you were born in england you are english no matter what the colour of your skin or ancestory. you play for england and nobody else unless it was an accident of birth where you and ypur partner were working abroad for a short time and the kid was born in another country.

entering the uk for a new life and seeking asylum aint nothing new. its been going on for hundreds of years without many people raising an eyelid. the present situation though is entirely different mainly due to the numbers and many lying about there intentions to be here in the first place. never heard a single word on here about the ukrainians we took in due to there conflict or others if they were actually fleeing persecution. thing is its usually women and children first to get out but this time its mainly younger men who should stay and fight for change in the lands they have left. really shows what they think of kids and women in general.
