Traffic chaos

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Traffic chaos

Had a appointment at a business park in Billingham lunchtime, what a palaver getting out of town today, started at the Saxon roundabout, had to carry straight on along to the hospital roundabout as the turn up to the Tall Ships was closed, took a right there and up Throston Grange lane, turned right at the lights and past High Throston golf club, on reaching the Hart Bypass it was shut, had to go through the village and back onto the bypass at the top towards the A19 only to be met by a tailback of people at traffic lights where the solar park is, loads doing U-turns in front of me and heading back into town, so after a while of going nowhere decided to do the same, headed back down Throston and through the estate onto the Elwick road. Heavy traffic all the way through Elwick due mainly to the road narrowing restrictions, then finally onto the A19 South.

If it's still the same keep well away, in hindsight would've been better going through Seaton/Port Clarence.

I've noticed everywhere you go these Solar Parks are getting lots of preferential treatment, ministers must have their investments tied up in them.

Cut back into town from Sedgefield through Trimdon and noticed a surprising number fields apparently earmarked for them….the countryside will look like an industrial site at this rate.
Around this area we see these fields of solar panels and wind turbines galore, but get away from the the North East and they’re still a novelty…share the buggers out why are we the dumping ground…?

Not forgetting the closure of Catcote Road for the school holidays at English Martyrs.for the summer holidays…this town needs a western ring road to take traffic away from being funnelled into town to get out of town.
Planners have been closing roads off in the town centre for years claiming they were ‘rat runs’ and only ended up creating more ‘rat runs’ and more bottle necks…is the average mental age of the people who create this chaos about 14,,,?
Maybe it’s a long term plan to get us out of our cars in frustration.

There's one going up on Fillpoke Lane shortly between High Heselden and Crimdon, I went to the consultation a few months back and asked would there be jobs for locals in maintenance/upkeep to be abruptly told no. All I can think is local farmers/landowners must be getting a nice wedge to host them.

I've never understood why the original slip road south off the A179 onto the A19 was done away with, it's basically still there but redundant, to be replaced by a shorter slip where if you get more than half a dozen cars going straight on in front of you you can't access it, therefore creating an unnecessary bottleneck... madness by the planners.

Planner’s must all ride bikes with some of the over complex and expensive plans they come up with.

traffic chaos, welcome to my world. just need to take the dogs out and the buggers are following you putting there temporary lights and road closure signs up. thing is they never tell you which road is actually closed and the road workers can take up to a day to arrive to start work after temporary lights are installed,

To travel from one end of town to the other i usually find it quicker to go via Seaton sea front and use Church Street.

always do as there are less traffic lights and roundabouts even though the mileage is longer. can anyone tell me where that divice in the car is situated that turn lights to red just before i get there so i can disarm it.

Funny how when the kids are off school the traffic chaos at peak times is halved…most senior schools have cars assembling around them up to an hour before leaving time with parents or grandparents sat reading waiting to pick them up…the kids will end unfit, asthmatics without a sense of direction with this attitude.

I’m trying to visualise it…

correct, but when they go to big school in some areas they have miles to travel from home to get there. yes there are school buses for them but lets face it how many of us would miss them on purpose. now parents have a choice when this happens as they can use the car to take the buggers there. its the younger kids parents who are to blame where most live in walking distance of school.
