He's got York City to win the division, Rochdale to finish 2nd... and Pools to finish 5th. I'll have some of whatever he's smoking

Gateshead 2nd bottom and Morecambe rock bottom. The Heed look nailed on to struggle but if Morecambe's takeover goes through in the next few weeks they could do a lot better than that.

He's brave putting Pools 5th- wish I shared his level of optimism. I think York will win it, given the players they have amassed- but after that think it's very difficult to call.

Think Carlisle will struggle to readjust- relegated teams rarely do well their first season down and they've had back to back relegations (that said FGR had a good season last year!) They've signed Linney from Alty who will get goals - but then we had Mani last two seasons and finished mid table twice.

Hope FGR have a shocker- just cause I hate Savage- bloke is a complete Bellend. He's signed a load of Macc players- hopefully blows up in his face!

SARFend will challenge - but haven't signed anybody of note

Rochdale will be an interesting watch- whether they can get a tune out of Mani or he returns to his pre Pools numbers and also how many games Mancini plays.

Think Scunny will have a decent season along with the likes of Solihull, Eastleigh, Boring Wood and maybe Sutton.
There is always one team that do much better than expected - I'm going to go with Aldershot

Pools need to be challenging for the playoffs (as we would expect) but think we might just come up short- I'll say 8th

Stelling has to keep his alleged support for Pools therefore puts them in a high position in his prediction.

Was he a season ticket holder, has he ever owned up to be a Pools fan, was he a regular at Pools games before working for The Mail. I doubt it with his southern accent he has ever lived in Hartlepool, he might follow Pools for The Mail but doesn’t necessarily mean he supports them therefore allegedly.
There you go Snowy. Oh forgot it’s daft o’clock when you are at grumpiest.

anything can happen but feel even if morecambes take over comes odd and they can start the season they are in this league for the long haul.

You seem not to realise that Robbie is Jeff Stelling's lad. The southern accent probably has something to do with his dad working in London for the last 40-odd years and him growing up down there. No season ticket - I did hear somewhere that Jeff used to work weekends - but he's a chip off the old block and has been HUFC daft since he was a nipper. He started popping up as a guest on Radio Tees coverage of Pools away games dahn Sarf years before he got the Hartlepool Mail job.

I'm pretty sure Robbie has genuinely grown up supporting pools because of his dad, heard him mention on the radio before that his brother supports Brighton.

FFS Jamie - Can only assume you're taking the piss, as questioning Stelling Jnrs commitment and loyalty to Pools, pre working at the Mail is frankly embarrassing, given his family ties to the town.

It’s Snowy nitpicking which he does to most of my posts I should just have ignored him.
His commitment to Pools is because he is The Mails journalist for them, living on the south coast I doubt very much he travelled to many Pools games before his current position. Great he got the job but I assume as soon The Mail saw his name on the CV he was nailed on to get the job.

Can’t beat a nice stroll down the beach first thing in the morning with shorts and t shirt no thong though then call in for a coffee and cake on the way back or a full English breakfast £3 including tea/coffee, fruit juice and toast.

At least his brother could attend the games, it’s like the plastic supporters in Hartlepool who support Liverpool, Man U because their Father did and never went to game.

In this division, always a chance of sneaking into 7th place, especially with experienced players like Daly, Parkes, Johnson, Walker etc, but a lot will depend on how many games the latter two play, and their attitudes, one last great finish to their careers, or go through the motions, then sign for Spennymoor next summer.

You’ve lost argument Jamie, a little bit of humility wouldn’t go amiss, send him some thing in compensation…there, there.

about attending games. jeff could hardly bring his lad to pools anyway as he was busy doing something on a matchday. unless they are incomers i cannot see many fathers of plastic premier league clubs fans who went to games unless they supported the mags or the cats. thats more or less an invention of the last 25 years with shirts being a fashion statement rather than proof of being a fan.

Yeah, I sure Robbie fakes his Pools support partially for the glory, partially to impress his friends, but mostly so that he can travel the country, getting paid around minimum wage, to report on them for the local rag.

We are all entitled to an opinion, utter bollox, back your statement up, do you actually know if Stelling is an avid Pools supporter, might be a plastic one prior to his appointment as The Mails reporter for Pools How many games has he attended prior to his current job as The Mails reporter for Pools, as I said I doubt he would travelling from down south to the Vic every other week, might have been to the odd one when they were playing near his area.

Sorry Jamie, but you need to give up on this one.

Did you listen to Robbie commentating at matches on Poolsworld during lock down? His football knowledge & enthusiasm for Pools was very impressive
Have you seen him at Pools? I have
Have you spoken to him & gleaned his passion for the club? I have
I bumped into Jeff & both his sons at the Bournemouth away game in around 2005, so he's hardly a Johnny Come Lately

"Robert Jeffrey Stelling (born 18 March 1955) is an English television presenter. He presented Gillette football Saturday for Sky Sports from 1994 until 2023."

Apparently you don't do irony - or is it just attention that you crave? That's enough of my time you've wasted. Bye!

I'm pretty sure Robbie has genuinely grown up supporting pools because of his dad, heard him mention on the radio before that his brother supports Brighton.

At least his brother could attend the games, it’s like the plastic supporters in Hartlepool who support Liverpool, Man U because their Father did and never went to game.

You’ve lost argument Jamie, a little bit of humility wouldn’t go amiss, send him some thing in compensation…there, there.

What argument Snowy, he said pretty sure ? he might have supported Pools but never attended any games.

so what. i,ve been a avid pools fan all my like but was lucky to see one game a season between 1993 and 2010 due to living well over 200 miles away either bringing up a son to support a non premier club of his choice or working or reffing every saturday. i,d guess there are and have been others in the same boat. its not a competitipn where most games you see makes you the biggest fan.

‘Alleged support’….define what you are implying.

Jeff Stelling was his Dad so what, I am aware of where he was born although I didn’t know how old he was, thanks for the info.

sorry to say this and with respect i,d say you should give up on all threads if you only wish to wind fellow posters up and say things you do not believe yourself just to do that.

A fair few stories from Thailand making the news:

"Police at the scene in Thailand after man blows himself up"

"A British man on holiday in Chiang Mai fell to his death from a 10th-floor condo after a heated row with his fiancée"

"Dumped boyfriend accidentally kills himself throwing bomb at ex-girlfriend's house after it bounces back and explodes in his face"

A wind up requires a sense of humour…stop bluffing and blustering.

My grandson was brought up and lives in Gateshead.
He has a Pools season ticket.
Big difference to some ones Father living in Hampshire where young Stelling was raised.
Not really, Hampshires a lot closer than Thailand….last time I consulted my Admiralty chart.
I was waiting for it Snowy, why do you always bring Thailand into the conversation, oh forgot envy and jealousy, you really need to give your head a shake, Thailand appears to be embedded in your brain.
Er…because YOU always do. doh
You relapse into references to your colourless excistence to save a few bob is always followed by a relapse into your fundamental vacillation. .
You wouldn’t know what my existence or standard of living is like Snowy as you have never been to Thailand,
I don’t live here to save a few bob I live here for a more affordable and a better standard of living one which I can afford to live on the basic State Pension with out using my savings, i couldn’t do that in the U.K.

Yes the U.K. media is always full of joyous headlines apart from today that’s if you like women’s football.
Generally about asylum seekers arrivals, asylum seekers sexual assault on women, hotels where they are staying getting attacked in, protests against asylum seekers, knife crime on the increase, drugs raids etc, definitely great reading.
England a wonderful place to live in where pensioners are dying because they can’t afford to pay their energy bills, the U.K. with 6th largest GDP in the world and people having to use food banks, the majority on benefits are actually working.

Well no wonder you left England.

But in reality you've just gone from one shithole to anutha.
Take away the beaches n that's what Thailand is.
And due to the £ exchange rate it ain't cheap anymore.

It's certainly not the Fantasy Paradise you make it out to be.

I've been 3 times before ya say I've called it wrong.
Good holiday destination but not for permanent living IMHO.

Incoming lecture on its way.
