Jesus Died For His Own Sins...Not Mine!!!

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

I believe in god as an entity, a force or some kind of energy. In my dissolute years I once took a stupid amount of magic mushrooms, I left my body and sat with 'God', it was very real and has always stuck with me.
My belief in death is that our bodies are just meat puppets animated by some kind of universal energy, when we die the energy will go back into the universe and at some point attach itself to another meat puppet. Something like those glass spheres that are charged with electricity and the electricity reaches out to your fingers when placed on the glass.

I think we can all agree that proper British religions are best, like Christianity. None of that foreign muck that originates in the Middle East………. oh.

it was a form of controlling the masses before the invention of the radio, television and the internet. how many would have been willing to die for a cause if religeon was never mentioned. In WW1 it seemed totally odd that all the sides on the western front had god on there side. what has religeon done for many. just a list of things you cannot or should not do that most totally ignore.

This is one of the most discussed subjects ever. People have worshipped the most bizarre things and made "Gods" of objects, animals and even people.
My stance is if someone has a belief or faith just let them get on with it, as long as it is not rammed down my throat or someone in authority doesn't force me to comply with it's "rules".
Is it that some people just like to have something to cling on to I dunno sctatchinghead

My daughter always said when she was a kid if there is a God why are they so many wrong doings in the world more so by people who believe in God or what ever figurehead they believe in, Buddha, Allah etc.
She went to Martyrs 6th form, in a class they were asked does anybody not believe in God, she said I don’t. She was asked to explain why but not in the classroom but in the corridor outside.

that was always the problem with schools for people of my generation. you had to just comply unless you wanted to be an outcast. it was either brainwashing or teachers just expected you to follow the christian religeon without a second thought. Seem with the monarchy.

unless it was in RE class it should not have ben mentioned. If it was she should of been allowed to state her case in class. Lack of free speech back then if you did not follow a certain line of thought. Individual in and robots out methinks.

Derwent i wouldn’t say religion was rammed down our throats years ago but look how many people used to go church on a Sunday compared to today.
Now we see people being radicalised which for me means rammed down their throats with threats and they believe in it.

Haughton ain't going to FGR - not now they've released their new kits for the upcoming season. Unless he wants to look like a complete Bellend every Saturday!

Would say Oldham are favourites, with them being back in the EFL and in the north west.
Think Daly has just claimed his spot at Pools.
Only way I see him arriving here, is if Campbell is shipped out, either on loan or permanently.

It’s all based on the simple principle of telling the plebs back in the day that you have a shit life but if you do as you’re told, behave and don’t ask questions, you’ll spend eternity in Paradise and the fell for it….not that there an option not to comply.

She went to Martyrs 6th form, in a class they were asked does anybody not believe in God, she said I don’t. She was asked to explain why but not in the classroom but in the corridor outside.

There was a lad in my year at Martyrs* who was Atheist and got out of going to RE. Wish I thought of that. sadx

*Obviously I mean Dykey.

how long ago was that. know even after i left that RE was one of the few compulsory subjects you had to do in schools.

Only Catholic schools.

"No such thing as the After life”
Must be i,ve seen the program.

You just like disagreeing with me. therethere

If I said ya were me favourite poster yad still be angry

When we getting a keeper and who is it?!

Just a little banter, I know you understand, some do not.

A top keeper is a MUST, Or all the rest is a waste of time.
I really do believe that.

With regard to Houghton It was/is between us, FGR and Oldham so i,m led to believe.

He,s not leaving the NW, Heard his Mrs plays for Fylde Ladies.

I went to Teresa’s till 11 plus time and then left all that stuff behind me.
At religious based schools there’s the god botherers who are looked after ….and the plebs who’d rather be somewhere else, in fact anywhere else.
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

born in the nw, played all of his career there. if oldham are in for him i cannot see him choosing a team away from his area. 31 soon and this could be his last chance of playing league football again.
