And so it goes on....and on. The interviews with managers, players etc, the latest Grayson, either in white washed rooms up at Durham with not a picture, tactics board, fixture list or anything football related stuck to the wall behind them.

Then the post match interviews, again, up against a white washed corrugated iron portakabin, with background noise of players and god knows what going on at the same time as the interview.

FFS! even clubs FC Hartlepool or Horden would pick up that this didn't look very professional and that something better needed to be done.

The club couldn't look more amateurish if it tried. Feck knows what Grayson makes of it all.

Get it sorted out you clowns. banghead

Never been a decent media person since Mark Simpson, replacements are young lads trainees maybe straight out of uni, Singh won’t pay the money or see the importance of one.

Clubs way down the leagues are more professional than us. Doesn't look great but we have much bigger problems than just the media.

but its great at morecambe and sheff.wed for a start. ok pools might be nowhere near a template for how to run a football club but there will be far worse both in the media and other parts of clubs. we do not even know everything about the club we support never mind the goings on at others.

I've got a feeling that will be about the size of it. Give a young lad the job for buttons wages, see what he can do with it. In the end it's only a few daft video clips.

Some open their mouths and their brains fall out.
If they have never been involved with the day to day running, Then their opinions mean jackshit.

Do they ever get the chance, how many media managers has there been since Simpson, they don’t appear to last very long.

Usually the background has the National league logo and sponsors all over it, so given that these will need to be updated from Vanarama to Enterprise, then the league will need to get all new ones created and sent out to each club.

Mark was great, but he will have been new to it at one point too, the new guy had made a decent start and will grow into the role too.

One thing I did notice was that they were using clip-on mics last year with the furry cover to block out the wind and background noise. They aren’t using these any more, so perhaps these belonged to the previous guy. They really improved the sound quality. Only £20 on Amazon.

If they get new ones, then expect the debt to Prestige Group to increase by £20 in next years accounts.

Appreciate it’s a young kid doing it but think it’s pretty poor to not put out highlights of all pre season games. All the games will be filmed for the coaching staff so it wouldn’t be massively difficult putting out 3 mins you’ve cut out of that. We got highlights of the FC game and Whitby but they were by their own media teams.

So are we now saying clubs in lower leagues are not more proffessionally run than us on and off the pitch? If some can't see that then I suggest its their brains that have fallen out.

Crikey the chairman of our club has just had a rigged vote to keep him at the club, a takeover that was never going to happen. Debt rising by the year, nice consultancy fees added. Fans of other clubs laughing at us for being a basket case. The pitch criticised weekly by opposition managers, the media department not a patch on others of teams way lower than us. As long as morecambe are worse then everything's OK I guess. Do fans realise one day that will be us anyway. Clueless

I had a similar thought when I read the official match report.

Numerous grammatical errors and weirdly frequent missing words.

I did wonder if it was written by AI from other reports?

Take a read and see what you think?

Alex Chandy was decent got off to a shaky start but was better than the current ones who followed him, now Media Manager at Sunderland, done well for himself.

When you go on the Pools app and you see Fergy on the front page you can't argue that we're crap at all forms of media. For all Chandy wasn't brilliant, I'm sure he started off unpaid as an intern - if you pay peanuts (if you pay anything at all that is).............

I thought Chandy did well during Covid but got worse as time went on and I was glad when he left. The official website, which to me should be one of the first places a fan should go to for information, was extremely neglected during his time as media man.

I thought the same but it might be because everything was going well so we didn't notice? I thought as time went on he made more and more mistakes, either spelling, basic English or just being tone deaf (member 'what were your favourite moments of the national league?' a week after we'd been relegated). We did get regular decent content out on social media but he lacked care in the other areas of his job.
I didn't mind the last guy, we didn't get a lot of content but everything was done professionally and I can't remember any glaring errors at all.

I know I'm probably being picky again, but the latest official match preview for the Boro game doesn't even say what day its on.

We all know but very poor attention to detail. Not necessarily blaming the writer, as I don't know their circumstances or whether they are even getting paid, but I don't think it helps in trying to portray ourselves as a professional "big" club at this level.

The new Media Officer is young alright, but not a kid and not totally inexperienced:

https://muckrack.com/dominic-aberdeen-2

South Shields and Durham Women probably paid him buttons so you'd have to assume coming to Pools is career progression for him - and a bit more money.
You'd think he'd know by now how to do a post-match interview without it sounding like a cat is playing with the microphone (the Boro one) but hopefully he'll respond well to constructive criticism
