Sounds about right - virtually the only good decision made by 'the club' since Clearly was brought in on loan.

The decline is because it nailed on for Rochdale to win it.

agree. treat it with the contempt it deserves. wish more would follow suit and the competition is just part of history.

Attendances last year were pathetic even by National League standards. The Heed only got 100 in to watch Sunderland U-21s. There might be a bit of interest in a pre-season friendly in July but there's none at all for a Micky Mouse competition on a wet Tuesday in November.

surely clubs are making a loss staging these games with the obvious cheap admission cost on top. who actually wanted this competition in the first place away from those running the game. still think its a way to introduce premier league B teams into non league football as they are doing in the lowland league in scotland. less who turn up will put this idea on hold. its certainly not been a success in that trophy for efl clubs since the kids teams were introduced where fans are staying away only to return once there team plays another league club.

I think it was a case of the Premier League gave the National League a chunk of money and in return they created this competition and the Premier League got the support of the National League against a football regulator, for one.
