Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

This is what £2,000,000 of tax payers money gets ya.

The 2025 State Banquet is about to start at a cost of over £2million to the taxpayers.

As it’s a State Banquet the King who is head of state should pay for it, he can well afford to pay for it as King Charles is set to receive official annual income of £132m next year, after his portfolio of land and property made more than £1bn in profits thanks to a boom in the offshore wind sector.

It was a State visit, therefore Charles would pay for it, Charles is the head of State so the invite would have come from him, Trump is coming for a State visit which was an invitation from Charles, keep up to speed Snowy, I thought you were a bit of a historian ?

2 million is sod all now when they talk in billions now. its not the money though its the look it gives to the population who many struggle just to put cheap food on the table. its just something we seem to excel in where its easier to spend taxpayers money than getting it from a billionaire old git who would not miss a single penny of it.

Unfortunately many from around the globe who view from abroad think the majority of us live like that that’s why so many want to come to the U.K., the land of milk and honey.

Come on Jamie, get real…Charles is the window dressing, the politicians do the deciding about whose coming…..you obviously aren’t an historian.
You might have had a point three hundred years ago…but not now.

They’ll come anyway…they know they can’t have the banquet, but the UK Gov will do a good enough job in their eyes.

but in the same way many from this country will have thought all americans lived like those shown in hollywood films of the past where they had new cars and every labour saving device known to man. many who watched them had outside bogs in a slum and the best form of personal transport being a push bike.
