1965 What a year.
The sun shone every day.
School was Hart Road Juniors.
Weekends we spent at Crimdon where we hired a round tin hut for the day, we would play football all morning then in the afternoon with our 2 shiilings apiece run up the steep steps and spend it at the old fairground which was then situated just above the huts.
1965 was also the year we had our one and only family holiday spending a fantastic week at Butlins Filey.
My oldest sister had just started work at Prices (John Collier) she saved her wages to purchase a Dansette record player with 'Eve of Destruction' and 'Help' being continuously played, at eight years old I knew the words to both songs of by heart its ironic that the words in 'Eve of Destruction' still apply today.
