Hartlepool United Football Club are delighted to announce that midfielder Nathan Sheron has signed a new two-year contract extension.

Nathan was in integral part of the team last season playing 44 National League games.

Simon Grayson said:

“We are delighted that Nathan has committed to us for the next two years. He is a player who I know from my Fleetwood days. He is a whole-hearted, versatile player who was a key player for us last season and that’s why we are delighted for him to re-sign.

Talks are well underway with additional new players with his level of EFL and National League experience as we look to put together a strong squad for next season.”

Nathan Sheron said:

“Im buzzing to get it sorted. I really enjoyed my time here last season and I’m looking forward to the next two years.”

 Shit the Bed! I did not expect that!

Though sounds like the Fleetwood connection with Grayson cemented the deal

Best news in ages - Now get Mani signed up on a two year contract too!

Edit- just realised we now have 11 players, so we won't have to play rush keeper! rolf

Did the club even bother with a Player of the Season this year? Sheron would have been a very strong contender to win it - between him, Mani and Parkes.

Would have been Sheron for me like, I thought he had a great season. Him and Miley next season should be a good pairing

I bet a couple signings of note will result a lot of complainers rolling over to have their belly’s tickled.
Not the point though, if the same old regime is in place.

Nothing wrong with being pleased that Sherons staying, it's a bit of good news regardless of what's going on or not in the bigger picture.
Let's face it there'd be plenty berating the club and everything about it if he'd announced he was off!

Just maybe HERD are part owners and own less than 50% of the club for the next 2 years.
Then theres something in place to pass a Golden Handshake on to Radgy.

Could be wrong but hey no ones been correct yet with their presumptions of speculation.

Well of course they’d be berating the club if he left, but you’re not supposed to let your best players go in the first place…..it’s expected, not something to cheer because you’re actually doing your job for a change…..letting decent players go has been the norm at Pools for several years…..about time it changed.

There's not much to be cheerful about regarding the club at the moment so I'll take Sheron's signing as a positive. Just got to hope he's not bench warming or playing RB to accommodate our player / coach and Dodds gone.

can see the news of his re signing upsetting a few as they might have preffered him to leave just to suit there agenda. saying that its only a small positive when the bigger picture is still crap. at least the lifeboat has saved one person stuck out to sea even if thousands are waiting to be rescued.

Change preferred to expected sctatchinghead.
Only agenda is the club needs to shape up rapidly which I think weed all agree on.
And any division between the fans has been caused by Sing simple as that.
And a few of his boardroom characters.

Be amazing what 3 friendly wins in a row will do.

I'm getting carried away. refred

Thought Sheron might be away. Solid player, who I think will get even better next season.
