Obviously they've had to give him a lengthy contract to tie him down, but I reckon if Stockport are not in top 6 come November, he'll get sacked. DC has made a rod for his own back, he's switched on, and he'll know what he has to do and the consequences if he doesn't do it. The downside of missing out on automatic promotion and play off failure. He might even jump ship if they were doing well and a bigger club came in, DC knows in football management these days, you have to keep moving, no time for loyalty to those that will sack you as soon as the club hits a rough patch of results. I hope it works out for him though, as think he is a Championship standard manager.

one thing i always agreed with jack charlton on was when he said 5 years as a league manager was long enough. suppose it might be less so nowadays with teams bringing in half a new squad every year.
