It’s been announced that Wincey Willis the former TV-am weathergirl, and presenter on the Channel 4 show ‘Treasure Hunt’ has died at the age of 76. Wincey, worked with Les Ross at Radio Tees before he came back to Birmingham and BRMB. Their close friendship lasted a lifetime. In 2015, she was diagnosed with Fronto-temporal dementia. She died peacefully at a care home in the North East in December 2024. She was a keen gardener and scuba-diver. And devoted much of her time in later life to the care of animals. R.I.P. Wincey.

the news has only been released by the press today)

Wonder why the delay, apparently the family requested it.
Ah well, ,they’ll have their reasons.

Aw, what a shame. She was sound.

I once thought I'd met her in the late 1990s while she and I were both having a tab outside a conference centre in Sunderland. I nervously approached her and managed to strike-up a conversation. She even laughed at a few of my jokes..!

"Well, I'll catch ya later Wincey" said I, as I put me tab out.

"Aye pet," she said "I'll let Wincey know next time I see her."

Seeing my look of bewilderment, she smiled and held out her hand to shake mine - and announced that she was actually Kathy Secker and was very pleased to meet me...

As ever, your face is not the first consideration of any woman.

And the only bulge in your trousers of interest to her is that of your wallet...

Have any of you listened to Athletico Mince Podcast by Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson?

It's loosely football related. Bob does a superb impression of Peter Beardsley, whose basically battered verbally by his wife. It starts shortly after he's been suspended for bullying and is a day in the life of what he gets up to, whilst waiting on his Missus, who is brutal
It's absolutely hilarious and well worth a listen!

From memory, they appear from about episode 50.

More than spoken to, and she certainly loved a bit of Kenny's magic wand mate.

Though obviously not a lot...
