Has to be the ASDA one with those horrible voiced kids 'singing' Ry Orbisons 'Pretty Woman'

If you listen carefully you can hear Roy spinning in his grave.......

dad a big country fan and grew up listening to cash, boxcar, hank, charlie pride, marty robbins etc so it were just a continuation of a liking of him.

yes i agree a lot of media hype, but his voice is a voice of my childhood and like GP by the fannies brings memories to you, cash always does to me. but i do understand where you are coming from. personally i relate it to his battle with the brown, rather than his passing. anyway

The only good thing Johnny Cash ever did was 'A Boy Named Sue.' I passed some stall at Leeds Festival that was playing it on their system and stood and grinned for five minutes.

The most annoying thing on telly ever is that choc ice they have doing the Halifax thing. An abject lesson in how to whiten a black bloke. I bet he's an icon in Brixton.

If you don't like country you're never going to like Johnny Cash. He was a musician who did the simple things well and distinctively. He was one of the best of his genre, even though it's a genre I don't go out of my way to listen to.
And he certainly helped revive Blob Dylan's flagging career in 1969.

But he was doing his stuff way before the vast majority here were born. Let's just say after a 50-year career and 50 million album sales he had a right to take whatever fookin' approach he wanted for his last album.

So leave off him!!

Oh, and most annoying advert for me is that one for the RAC - or is it the AA? The one with all the call-out blokes singing You've Got A Friend. There's just something irritating about the bloke doing the lead vocal.

That advert's scary; think about it, you've broke down in the middle of nowhere, and a whole load of inanely grinning fellas slowly walk towards you over a hill. You're fooked I tell ya!

Salty's favourite ad is the one I hate, Picture Loans, especially the new one which is farking terrible (with the Geordie woman in it).
Best ads are the totally zany ones which make me laugh, so that I don't even know what they are plugging half the time.

Have to admit I find the concept of persuading desperate people to borrow more money to pay off their debts vaguely obscene, particularly as a fair number will pay off their credit cards then start spending on them again, so they will be even further in debt, should string the bastard up who came up with that exploitative concept
