Looks like they've pretty much got the same squad for next season, no doubt topped up with a few quality loanees.
Whereas we've got yet another massive rebuild to undertake. I'd take Hannant if he'd come always looked good against us.

difference is they are better players than ours and really if we were stable club being run well off the field i,m not that sorry we are having to rebuild a side from what we had. feel cleary,s skill and the steadiness of parkes made us look better than we really were in a season you could count memorable wins and performances on one hand.

Without Cleary we'd have finished bottom 6 I think. Mancini also won us at least 3 points, his performance against Oldham was outstanding, I'd go as far as say that Mancini got us more points in the very limited time he had than players like Campbell did all season.

Plus the early season win at Boston when he came on at half time. Sad he's going but on a tight budget hard to have high risk fitness players.

The Heed have 18 players under contract and are in discussions with 8 more! That's one of the biggest squads in the NL right there. Even Olley had to turn down a deal to escape.

Seriously, where DO they get their money from? It ain't gate receipts that's for sure!

Difference is that Gateshead obviously have backers who are also supporters of the club and are prepared to throw REAL money into the playing budget. Pools have a backer who is seemingly only prepared to put a certain amount of money into the budget, who's heart obviously lies with a rival (albeit not directly) local club

If they have so much money why did they let a failed takeover bid screw up their season? Reading Olley and Carl Magnay's comments, they were really unhappy with their current chairman's role in the fiasco.

Some good players at Gateshead, but every time we sign a player from Gateshead they often seem to flatter to deceive. I think as a unit, playing for Gateshead they have some good players at this level, but it seems the case, you can take the player out of Gateshead, but you can't take Gateshead out of the player.

I would take a look at Tinkler, but not fussed either way, we should've signed him in 2019, when he left Gateshead to go to Aldershot.
