Sorry the practice is closed due to Training!!!
I thought it took years to become a GP...School, College, University etc etc....why more Training??
I've been to the Doctors a lot recently...everytime I turn up...there's only 3 or 4 others. Back in the day...before 'covid'...waiting room chokka but everyone got seen.
Doctors working from home eh...easy life?!?!

Our doctors can only give you an appointment with 14 days notice…so I phoned one day and was told there were no vacancies for a jab I was told I had to have strictly on a certain date, when I explained it was hammered into me that it was vital it had to be a on a pre-decided date, I was told never worry a few days won’t matter banghead

It’s getting to the stage were you have to guess you’re gonna be ill before you actually are…might as well replace receptionists with fortune tellers.

true stories about getting a doctors appointment would have filled up a stand up comedians joke book for months years back.

their training days consist of reading the training manual used by the gestapo written in 1939.

next there will be secret phone numbers only some can use to get through to them plus a closed door policy where you need a new code every day just to get into the surgery. seriously though mine ignore requests from my consultant at the hospital for the change of my eye drops and would love to know what happens behind the scenes. one phone call to him and a few hours later my prescription was ready to pick up.

Used to be the same with Storemen who all of a sudden became Material Controllers and ‘graduated to engineers’ always questioning why you wanted to order what ever or giving stuff out as if they were paying for it.

Humble ‘filing clerks’ now call themselves ‘Document Controllers’.
Funny how Town Clerks became ‘CHIEF EXECUTIVES’…..and a nice salary boost to go with the fancy title…but more useless than their efficient humble predecessor’s.

Alot of them are going part time as if you are £100k a year 4 days still rakes in £80k or 3 days £60k. They are often married to well salaried people so its a good work life balance. The days of the 6/7 days a week GP are over.
The NHS therefore has to train a lot more of them to achieve cover and it costs.

Parking charges are going up at Hartlepool and North Tees Hospitals, how can it be justified more so as the car parks are run by private companies, not sure even if any of the money makes its way back the to NHS, just a cash cow,

You get 20 minutes free, how generous….enough time to run into Urgent Care, shout “I don’t feel very well’ and run back to your car and leave.

No the NHS gets the money after the company takes a fee for management.
Helps support services but it feels immoral.

I could understand it in a town centre location where parking is at a premium but in our case it’s more of an edge of town location where I can’t see many other users parking there.

same for me, but the more annoy thing is the double yellow lines for well over a mile either side of the hospital that then dissapear once you get further away even if the road is just the same. its forced payment of a fee much higher than in a town centre and nothing to do with road safety.

Sorry to hear that, so it’s either terminal or a loooooong lingering descent into oblivion.
