Theres no way that Terry Ward didn't at least warm up for Pools, once you said who he wasI recalled his face instantly, and he looks nowt like their Billy.

(Unlike F.Reid who looks VERY like their Billy, and his other Brother Neil who had a Number One hit in 1972 with "Mother Of Mine") rolfl rolfl

do you have any information on terry ward elvis as a friend of mine had a chance to sign for pools as a kid but due to unforeseen circumstances it never happenend, this must of been 70-80s as billy horner was in charge. it might be a different terry ward but im sure my mate reckons the terry ward he was on about is from trimdon.

Willie Waddell was an absolute legend at that time for Pools. I remember his runs down the wing and how they really got the crowd going, much like Paul Dalton and Rob McKinnon did later. Crowds love to see players running at defences and Waddell was great - only seemed to be around for a short period though?

So we're they all right by the end of the thread? This is definitely the longest I've waited for a competition result.

Here we go

Back Row

Goad McMahon Eddie Guy Watling Conlon Rob Smith

Middle Row
Heath Shoulder Ward Spellman Moore Coyne and Waddell

Front row

A Triallist ? Dave Embleton Keith Guy and Wearside league prolific scorer Hartley Maddison

Only 1 I cannot name form memory. For the record I think Coyne and Waddell left before a ball was kicked and Dave Smith signed from Udersfield ! Manager Ken Hale's first season as a guess ?

I was used to seeing Kevin Mcmahon with Mally Moore next to him, my mistake....

snowy I think you are right and George Potter is back row far right and middle row second left is Rob Smith not so sure Jimmy Shoulder is there now !

permed hair one front row puzzles me to early to be Jon O'Donnell but do not think he played first team at all!
