Does that replace the agreement that replaced the agreement with Hartlepool College of FE that caused so much fuss a few weeks ago?

More to the point, who has authority to make 5-year deals on behalf of a club that is supposedly teetering on the brink of going out of existence?

As I have mentioned on the thread that started this one, ultimately it is irrelevant.

A business does not freeze when the owner says he is leaving. If he instructs employees to do something, they will do it - 'cos the boss said so.

Maybe a more interesting question is what assurances have been given Hartlepool Sixth Form College? They are a business too and can't be oblivious to all the speculation about the club's future since Raj's public announcement that he would cease funding on May 1st.

They'll have done their due dilligence and obviously think everything is above board, otherwise all they're doing is exposing themselves to embarrassment if it all goes tits up in a matter of days.

Agree entirely with the above but there are two ways of looking at these interim releases from the club. One is that 'someone' is confident that a deal is reasonably imminent and deliberately feeding signals to a naturally concerned fanbase. The second is that someone else is maliciously attempting to convey a message that all is well when everything is actually going tits up. I find it hard to believe that anyone at the club would stoop to this level.

If the stony silence really is an indication that nothing is happening and/or that no-one is as yet confident of the final outcome then why bother posting even low key information on the OS that will only serve to mislead people?

Have they found the way to run a club without any fans at all, so we can be safely ignored.

If nothing is happening, Then loads would/should be happening.

Giving Singh the benefit of the doubt ie that he won't actually shit on the club and fans. However, we've been waiting patiently for eight long weeks, with very few rumours (apart from fake news generated by nobheads - we all know who they are) hence the expectancy of a soonest announcement. What if 'they' are waiting for someone to become available ie another benefactor, new manager, player(s) etc before closing out the deal and making the announcement?

I'm personally hoping for an announcement on Monday, as it's my birthday and that would be an amazing present!

Regarding rumours, once a club is in this position the rumours start, it has always been so since time immemorial in most aspects of life…football fans live on a diet of rumour, wishful thinking and self delusion…it’s what keeps us fans going.

That does seem to be the case, and on one level you can't blame him for trying.

Back in the day, someone in his position could've probably wangled a holdall full of cash on top of the official deal as a "sweetener" - but that's not easy for legitimate businesses in the modern world.

Hartlepool United Football Club will be looked at by the accountants who currently rule the planet, and unfortunately we are not particularly endowed with assets.

They will report to their clients that Raj's expectations aren't realistic given the value of a set of floodlights and a 1970s PA system, but he's clearly a man who is used to getting what he wants.

And his time at Darlo proves he is quite capable of walking away if he doesn't get it.

We may need Donald Trump as the mediator in this battle of the boardroom..!
