Anybody else have Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and Doncaster to win their leagues at the start of the season?

I did, put £2 on.

Unfortunately I also has Pools in my 5 timer.

Was 15,000/1 so would have been £30k+ win.

How naïve was I, heart ruled head.

If I'd left Pools out it would have been £3k so a lesson to be learned violin

I think FGR are nailed on. Yesterday they were having a kick about for 80 minutes then suddenly decided to play and tore through the Pools defence with ease.

There again most teams did.

Apparently FFG 'rested' five key players but brought them all on during the last 15 minutes. Pools could and should have won though - the loss of Cleary after the bastards had been kicking him all game and the sloppy goal conceded were obviously major factors but Mani was struggling in the last 15, not sure why Madine wasn't used.Folarin should have replaced Clearly directly and could have done better with his late opportunity.

Still happy with my predictions - hopefully Challinor will take another step towards the Championship tonight. At some point a 'big' club is surely going to provide an opportunity for him to prove himself.Maybe even the Boro - although not technically a 'big' club.

Can you remember when penaltys were delayed goals.
And free kicks outside the penalty area weren't longer range penaltys.

And a corner kick give you hope for a goal.

And throw inside went forwards

10 mins at half time

And no stupid forums

Yes it wasn't to be but Stockport had only themselves to blame. Olafe missed a glorious chance near the end of 90 minutes by lashing the ball over the bar when he could have simply passed the ball into the net. Jack Diamond then fucked up the decisive penalty by trying to be clever instead of simply picking his spot and smashing it.

The question now is will Challinor go again next season or accept an offer from a bigger fish that will surely be incoming at some point?

That's the type of thing we'd do in a playoff semi, with Wembley as the nailed on Final destination. Bet the Dale are as sick as fuck.
Hoping FGR can beat the shrimpers - as my outlaws will be unbearable should SARFend make it to Wembley

Wonder if Dale will offer Ian Henderson another contract, 40 years old and 140 goals for them in 10 years at the club. I'd imagine their fans will say time to move on .

can hear the words now that i have taken this club as far as i can. think it would be a good time now for him to move as the knives will be out if he does not match or improve on this season if he stays. the past meens little to many clubs and fans nowadays.

I'm just about recovering from a nerve wracking evening, but i expect a very difficult game against Orient.
It was good see to Lennie Lawrence back at 'The Valley' last night accompanied by some of his players from our 1987 play-off matches against Leeds.

watched all 4 lg.1 play off games and hope charlton decide to be a bit more adventurous as they have been in there two even if its just for the neutrals watching. if they do manage to win i think they,ll make a better fist of championship football than the north london lot will.

I also watched all four L1 playoff games, the Orient vs Stockport games were entertaining and good quality. Conversely the Charlton v Wycombe ties were horrendous, especially last night's which must surely represent one of the most tedious play-offs in EFL history. I wished I could have watched Rochdale Vs Saafend instead but I don't have a DAZN account.

I agree that Charlton as a club would have a better chance of a prolonged spell in the Championship but I think Orient may well eliminate them.

Any chance you can keep Lennie down there? We've had our fill of him in Hartlepool.

Would like to see Sunderland go up and make a good attempt to stay there. Sunderland with some success could get a huge fan base. I seen talk of adding 12k seats at the ground and im sure they could fill that in the premier league regularly. North east derbies are really needed. We should be playing Darlo once a year no matter what.

I will admit that we are not the most attractive side to watch, but Wycombe are the hardest team to play against in our league with their anti football tactics. Orient on the other hand are a very good footballing team, so it should be an interesting game.
We have had a very strange season, up to December we looked as though we were going nowhere & we were even beaten by Crawley at home & our manager Nathan Jones was coming under a lot of pressure from the fans but suddenly our football & results dramatically improved & we have managed to end up at Wembley.
It will be strange playing in a London derby at Wembley when in our previous play-off visits we have played Sunderland twice.
Also its a shame the final is on a Sunday with a 1pm kick-off, so not to clash with the final day of the premier league fixtures.

Best of luck Clive, hope you win it. Hate Orient, always lost on the four occasions I've been there, and Barry Hearn is as odious as they come. My last visit being the 5nil mauling we took in DCs last match in the game of three halves. It's been downhill for us ever since that particular day.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Charlton, from my days of living down in the Docklands (when Millwall were my nearest team- what a scary place that is)! I went to see them play Newcastle at the Valley (circa 2002) was in the away end with the carTOON army. 3-0 home win (think Darren Bent scored a couple) and the barcodes were lucky to get nil. They were that bad- Bobby Robson apologised after the game to the travelling contingent!

Would love to see the Mackems return to the Prem and give the dirty Mags something to really worry about, too many opposition sides seem to be in fear of them. Sadly I can't see them getting the better of Sheff Utd who are light years ahead of Coventry and the rest of the Championship, outside of the top two.

i,d hate to be a fan of either to be honest. the excitement the winners fans will feel will be short lasting as they,ll be crying in the stands once relegation hits em in march next year.

for some reason managers seem a better fit at certain clubs than they do at others. ferguson at peterborough and mccann at doncaster come quickly to mind. next sarll at hmp broadmoors side.

Scunthorpe won 2 1.

Both teams were shite but both sets of fans were brilliant.
Referee was a crank who turned the game into its all about him.
Loads of yellow cards n bad decisions and 11 mins of injury time in the second half of Xtra time.

Sorry my match reports aren't as good as Loyal fans.

scunthorpe by the look of that game will be another side who,ll come to the vic putting the fear of god into our lovely boys and come away with some undeserved points. how they finished the game with 11 thugs on the pitch is beyond me with a ref happy to dish out cautions but no bottle to take it a step further. guess that will be another tuesday night fixture for us leaving BW for a saturday.

You did indeed- congratulations, there should be some recognition for not getting any of the contenders in their respective finals. Looks like Kettering is in pole position now.

unless he has followed me and just voted for the teams he least wanted to be promoted. if so then put your money on a pools defeat next season. at least you might earn a bob or two when we drop down.

Just had a look at the playoff final fixtures for the weekend and spotted that all 3 games kick off at 1 minute past the hour - i.e Sunlun kick off at 15:01.

Does anybody know the significance of this (not a quiz question) just curious! sctatchinghead
